Genetics, dedication, consistency, training smart(preventing injuries), support, and its absolutely imperative that you start young if you want to be an 'elite'. Ive done a lot of different sports in my life and i think that starting young is probably the most important aspect. Also, i think it is important to train with athletes much better than you. I trained alone for a very long time and it wasn't until i started training with elite level athletes that my improvements both physical and mental were massive!.

4:40 mile here, shed 20 secs from my last race and hopefully gonna start off where I left it last year. Goal this year is to shed 20 more seconds to get the record 4:21. Then Try for sub 4 on senior year. Here’s to the future 💪🏽

@@dancer1 4:10 Not FAT we don't even have a rubberized track so that was on an asphalt track. Really needed to get a track season to have a good chance at scholarships though.

Sub 7 for me. And that felt fast as hell. Just to mention I probably don't have the natural build being 6ft1 and just under 100kg

I almost broke 5 in 9th grade. I think I’m just now realizing how fast that was for my age.
@BudderB0y22226 жыл бұрын
That's fast, but not amazingly fast
@oatgoat78966 жыл бұрын
Brendan Berney I didn’t really do much training in 9th grade. I guess it’s not extremely fast, but given how little running I did at practice, I don’t know how I did that.

There were kids on my team that were my age and they were running about 4:40. I think that would be considered pretty fast.

LOL!...the secret is you have to be a small boned shorter person who weighs around 100 lbs and can run.....otherwise, forget about it.....the larger you are, the less likely your body will be able to perform in this manner.....so genetics plays a HUGE role in it....of course, if you have the genetics than it comes down to training and mental toughness....sub 4 minute milers are not very common and represent an very small percentage of people who ever lived.....let alone who are alive now and running that time....
