Thank you so much for featuring the puzzle! Those are really nice chains you spotted, and the Florian Wortmann puzzle you link at the end is another great example of how powerful xy-chains can be! :) For those who are curious, the empty rectangle showcased here can actually be seen right at the start of the puzzle, with 3s and 4s limited to either row 5 or column 5. When you combine this with the telegraphing you mentioned in rows and columns 2 and 8, the result is fascinating! Wherever 3 goes in box 5, there is either an x-wing in r28c28 due to the rows, or an x-wing in the same location due to the columns! And the same is true for 4s.

Nice puzzle. Solved it in 26:56. At 14:50 you can actually finish the puzzle with another xy-chain: r4c7 (25)-r4c5 (53)-r8c5 (32)-r8c2 (23)-r5c2(32), eliminating 2 from r5c7, after which the puzzle solves.

There is a mistake in your video. @16:20 you have the cursor about row4 col5 and state "if there is a 3 here", then you move your cursor to the remaining unsolved boxes and state "then one of these have to be a three". This is obviously incorrect, as there cannot be two 3s in the same box. Perhaps you meant to say "if this a 5 (in row4, col5) here". Otherwise, an informative and enthusiastic video.

You are correct. Thank you for pointing that out. For that first example, I meant to go down to the yellow and show where 3 was and how it eliminated the 3 from R5C2.

As ever, I couldn't spot an XY-Chain if it were placed on a pedestal under spotlights. In addition to the odd pair and triple, I used colours on 3s and 4s to get through this one. Now I'm going to watch how I should have done it, but I doubt I'll be any the wiser when the need for an XY-Chain arises in the future.
