Thank you buddy! I greatly appreciate that. It’s probably because of how much work it is to make it work lol a lot of guys just want the simple Bolt and go, but I like building and making things fit when there not supposed to! It’s definitely been a very long project to this point, but well worth it.

It took this long because of all the custom work and parts needed but it’s always better to take your time then rush the build! Don’t feel bad if you take a while to build.

@@westhobbiesrc8051There are many old timers with Trex 600 and 700(nitro and electric) builds. But they probably haven't flown in years. There is now a growing community of people buying smaller, more affordable direct drive helis (goosky, omphobby). Overpopulation is a major issue in India. Its very difficult to find a clean open field with no people to bother you.

Hello looking good , butt think at the Filter before the pomp info xicoy (The bubble-trap outlet feeds direct to the inlet to the filter. If using an air trap which has a fine bag type filter (Xicoy) then the external filter CAN be omitted but beware the pump is vulnerable to particles getting in between bubble trap and pump inlet, so aim to be squeaky clean with the installation.) gr from The Nederlands
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 7 ай бұрын
I am running a filter clunk. But if I wasn’t then yes I would have the filter before the fuel pump. The filter clunk is a micron style filter, so nothing will get past that and if anything ever does it’ll be such small particles that the main filter can’t catch anyways.

Looking great, super clean. The most complex part seems to be the fuel system plumbing. Why “Secret”? Did you hide the credit card from the wife? 🤭
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 7 ай бұрын
Thank you! I appreciate it, the fuel system is definitely complex the wiring is going to be I believe a little bit more involved just because of all the ECU and fuel pump wiring. It’s a secret because I kept everybody guessing on what the engine was going in.

Did you try to flip front to back the fuel tank? So you will have less fuel line?
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 7 ай бұрын
It might save a little bit of fuel line, but now the clunk needs to be facing the back of the tank, no matter how it is oriented.

Hey, bro. How much more mass is this compared to a nitro? And how much more hassle is it likely to be if you crash it. Ask because those turbines are so precisely made.
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 6 ай бұрын
Mess wise, little to no mess. Turbines don’t blow a bunch of oil like in a nitro. Crash that’s a different story lol of course it all depends on how it is crashed but most likely damage to turbine will occur. Then it has to be sent in and rebuilt and or replaced.

Thanks! Your project made me do some research! I don’t think I can afford to do anything like this, so thank you for doing this! I can live vicariously by watching your exploits! I did mean mass btw, what’s the likely AUW compared to stock? (But you did answer another question I did wonder... about the mess! Thanks again for this series)

What if I don’t have programmable servos to put them at 90 degrees, for example the mks X8 , how do I put them at 90 when you don’t have the space to tighten the screws at the servo horns when they are installed on the helicopter?
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 7 ай бұрын
So you always want to 90 or as close to 90 before mounting them. You can power up your servos with FBL or servo center tool like the spektrum one and use the SAB gauge or if not a SAB just make sure there 90 to what the manual calls for. Then use sub trim in the FBL to fine tune.

will a turbine be any good for anything other than scale? can not see it beeing any good beyond mild sport? surely the "instant" power needed for 3d etc is not there on a turbine?
@westhobbiesrc8051
@westhobbiesrc8051 7 ай бұрын
You can do mild to sport 3-D flying with them. No they do not have power like an electric or even a nitro but if you know how to collective manage, you can keep the engine and its power van and not worry about bogging it too bad but you definitely don’t want to smack it around.
@spykezspykez7001
@spykezspykez7001 6 ай бұрын
Nice! Apart from a costly rebuild if one crashes, what could go wrong if one tries to smack it? If that’s a 2-stage turbine, one won’t bog up the main stage rpm by bogging the head, unless I misunderstand wrongly, so.. what if one bogs the head up? Can’t be worse than an underpowered brushless maybe? Or will the engine flame out due to some funky thing, fuel supply issue? But it’s a fuel pump right? I’m just curious!
