Ash Carter knocks it out of the park with this speech. Great example the Google guy who invented the 3 light battle field sensor on an 11 month schedule. Hard to believe any US Government Agency gets anything done in 11 months

When somebody makes claims about security and encryption technology concerning the internet and things i get another bad feeling in my belly. ( Iran-us RQ 170 incident) The hackers are so many steps ahead. But keep on selling the idea instead of using real innovation and dreams like we used to have. Build A alternative network and incompatible with commercial sold products then we have a fighting chance.

I'm probably just a douche for disagreeing with the SOD, but a multi-year budget wouldn't be the wisest thing to do. Technology evolves so quickly today that investing in the wrong direction could be to our detriment. If anything, we should have bi-yearly budgets.

Very interesting forum. And hey DARPA i have an idea that called "New methods and solutions for aerospace engineering and solar system exploration" and ASV Air-to-Space-Vehicle. with ready 3d model. ^) Which is Fighter with jet propulsion, but not gasturbine type. And not rocket engine type.

I have an idea darpa. I'm sure we have swarm robots yes? My idea is simple. Is there a way to have a swarm that floats at sea like trash, and come together when they have reached their target? . For example, I have no idea on how much explosive, or nuclear capabilities a small bit can hold, but if you were to have maybe a million bots float to some target somewhere and have them practically swim and join together at the shore line, crawl their way up the beach, and come together and form some kind of huge bomb.? Seriously, small rubbish size bots, floating to there destination to destroy a target., or ship, beach heads. Floating explosives ......imagine having a millions of them joining together.... I mean who would think to grab some toy looking thing out the water? No one. Boom.
