I had a budget Ikea chair and then upgraded to a budget amazon chair, I've basically had budget chairs for the last 7 years or so then took the plunge about a week ago on the new Titan Evo 2022. It's the best chair I've ever owned, the premium build quality and the comfort levels are unmatched!!! If you're considering upgrading, just do it, it's an investment for your health and just way more comfortable!!!

It’s definitely one of its superior features. Being able to to recline at that angle and also have that function office chairs have to fall back loose, but instead of being at that right angle, you can be at even more angles you wish; doing both features simultaneously. And what with its heavy duty build you can feel comfortable going crazy on it. Also since your covered with a pretty reliable warranty I’ve heard. It’s certainly something.

I'm 5'10" and about 220lbs. I just bought the 2022 XL and it is perfect. The seat is wide and comfortable and the best thing is the arm rest not only can be moved inwards, were the armrest attach to the bottom of the chair can slide inwards as well. Love it.

@@AqworldsAuildere Depends, I'm just big enough for the chair in relations to my feet touching the ground nice and flat at the lowest setting and the with headrest being in the lowest possible setting to be comfortable. If you like a chair to have lot's of realestate than I'd say you should be fine. In saying that , the regular size is only slightly smaller and may be more ergonomically fitting for 5'9"

In regards to the armrests being magnetic, makes them super easy to replace. I have a2 year old budget gaming chair, the armrests aren’t replaceable, Ava are compressed and worn out Every chair I’ve owned the armrests get nuked. This makes the benefit of ez swap magnetic great for longevity

I got my titan evo 2022 about a week ago and couldn’t be more unhappy with it. Upon delivery I received multiple emails from secret labs telling me my chair was part of a batch that might have extra sanitizer residue on the leather, and also known issues with the chair making lots of noise. When it delivered it did notice small spots on it but it wiped off. After a few days of using it the backrest/lumber support squeaks insanely loud Everytime I sit back or move around and it’s so distracting and annoying. The arm rests are also very loose and while I’m typing or gaming it’s very annoying too. Lastly, the chair is extremely uncomfortable. I found that my back pain got even worse and I can’t sit in the chair for more than an hour without it becoming unbearable. I contacted support and never got a response. I feel really stupid after hearing so many positive reviews but if you do some further research you’ll see that this thousands of other people with the same issues as me and secretly labs has done nothing about it. If you’re thinking about buying this chair, PLEASE stay away. It’s not worth $500 and you’ll regret buying it.

When it comes to office and gaming chairs you have a few options in the $500 range and the rest are in the $1,200+ range. The latter is not even an option for most people. So the competition for me is mostly in the $500 range.

Here's my take. I have the new chair and my boyfriend has the 2020 version. I'm 5'6", and slim, I got regular size. So far, I mostly like it. It seemed massive at first but as someone who loved sitting cross legged or with my feet up, it's been great. I don't think i would have liked the smaller version as it's got ample room to sit with your legs up on it. It's also super fun/comfy to lay back so far. Here's the cons (in my opinion) 1) The seats on both the 2020 and 2022 are very firm. Don't expect some squishy memory foam cloud feeling. It's apparently to make it last longer so it doesn't deflate, but honestly, it makes my butt hurt after awhile. I work from home so I sit for long periods of time and I have to adjust often. I actually bought my bf a PURPLE brand seat cushion because the chair was giving him a sore butt/back too. It's nearly hard, honestly. 2) the magnetic arm rests - i honestly don't like them. Theyre already comfortable enough and I personally don't plan on buying the squishy ones cause I never sit with my arms on them. There have been several times where I tried to move the chair by pulling the arm rests and the caps pop off and it scratches/pinches me. There's also been several times where I needed to bend over to pick something up or scratch my dog and I held onto the arm rest for support, and then the cap comes off and i almost fall. Again, the caps popping off caused me to scrape my fingers upwards on the metal underneath and my nails get caught on the edge and get yanked (ouch!) And it then snaps back into place and pinches me. Not a fan. Wish they went with a locking mechanism so you could still change them, but they stay in place. 3) lumbar support. I can't even fully utilize this feature because I have to keep messing with the knobs to make it stop CREAKING. I saw people complaining about this months ago and was hoping by the time I bought mine they would have fixed this known issue. Nope. It was quiet for about a week and now it's SO noisy. Lumbar in or out, doesn't matter. Anytime I swivel, shift in my chair, and especially if I lean back, it creaks super loud and repetitively. Loud enough that I can't ignore it. 4) the pillow. It's comfortable for what it is, super squishy. My complaint is that it falls off easily and there's only a small area where it sticks. It sits slightly above my head, and I can kinda slide it down just so, to where the back of my head rests against it, but it's on the edge of the magnet and will fall easy. It doesn't reach my neck at all. If i lean against it or lay back, and shift at all, it drags with you easily, off the magnet, and then falls down behind you as soon as you lift your head or lean forward. I know some people love the 'no strap' look. But personally i'd prefer a strap if it means the dang thing stays in place. Even just the momentum of sitting up makes it fall off. I'm concerned about the horror stories I've been hearing with the quality control and customer service. People are getting broken parts, missing parts, poor or loose stitching . The creaking parts. I just hope nothing breaks because people are apparently waiting months just to get a basic reply email if they write to them and ask for help or replacements. Look at their comment sections on instagram or reddit. Lots of upset and angry people. Seems like they lowered their standards this time around with the new chair. I expected a bit more at $500

EDIT: UPDATE! My lumbar support does creak if extended fully outward. They need to fix it for future designs. Is it a deal breaker. No. Is it slightly disappointing… yes. Your the first guy I’ve seen talk about the sizes in this way. I just got rid of my 6 month old immaculate 2020 XL. And ordered the R 2022. I’m 6”6 and the XL was waaay too wide. I weigh 209 pounds/95kg and the armrests at full adjustment inward was too wide on the XL. There was zero side support. I spent ages comparing the new model because the new model tells me to get the XL. (Previously the 2020 said xl was only for over 100kg… I would say. Don’t get the new XL unless your wide and overweight haha. I’m worried about the backrest noise concerns on the new model though…….

@@shadowsight4762 I absolutely guarantee you the xl will be way too wide. Set yourself up a mock armrest with your current chair and then measure an XL width arm rest. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Your smaller / lighter then me. I am MUCH MUCH more comfortable on the standard size. A bit gimmicky imo. After experiencing the lumbar support, although 2020 it tells me what to expect just without highering or lowering it; I reckon this chair would’ve dealt fine w/o and instead like how they supply a free memory foam pillow; slip in a memory foam lumbar as well. That sounds like it would better immediately mold better like the pillow which I loved immediately

I spent a year of looking at different reviews and i was very close to ordering a herman miller for $1500. Ive had them before and they’re great. They’re also way overpriced. @@brucekowalski3763 I don’t know. My chair is like a throne on wheels and its comfortable (It still needs to be worked in and used longer ). I have great height for my long legs and ample room for my big booty. I never realized but I think my torso is shorter so the ONLY issue i have is with the headrest pillow. For me to use it I need to place it lower on the backrest and its at the edge of the magnetic area so it often falls off when Im using it. First time in 2 years I have had back pain, was after going back to my office and sitting in the crappy chair at me desk at work. My Titan 2020 is the best thing I have bought for my home office/gaming room. The one issue I did have, was the arm rests tore (I must have bony elbows, but I have seen there are a few reports of this happening). SecretLabs replaced them instantly, and were amazing with their support, though the entire armrest including supports had to be changed. This however would explain the new magnetic armrest covers ;-) No longer need to replace the entire side arms, etc, but only get a new top cover for a fresh new look and feel. Cheaper, quicker, everyone is happy.

I own a Softweave Titan from mid 2019, and had one major issue when it comes to the chair. The left armrest PU cover cracked after only a year and support informed me that not only they have no replacements in stock and will put me on the waiting list, but also that warranty does not cover it. Only half a year later after I started sharing photos of this cracked armrest they suddenly got back to me and offered me a free replacement. That's my main issue with secretlab - their product support. Also I think this might only apply to the Softweave chairs, there is some kind of inner fabric between outer fabric and mesh that for me started to tear up and clump up for some reason. Other than that, I have a very bad habbit of sitting in a weird poses on my chair, for example cross legged, and I noticed that there are 2 wires going from the back to the front of the seat and seating weirdly might cause them to bend and start poking through the fabric, but that can be quite easily fixed.

This chair is bad: Even when tilt is locked, if I slightly shift my weight on seat backwards, the backrest and seat move back and it makes a click sound every time. This makes the chair seem unstable and wobbly. Lumbar support is noisy (only happend on day 2 - I understand this is a known issue/fault). The seat cushion inclined at the front, which diggs into my hamstrings. Not comfy on my legs at all. The armwrests make too much noise, this is minior, but when combined with everything else, just adds to frustration.

went from a stool, yes, a stool! a cool "fender " branded one, but still. for the last 5 years, moved up to a 2022, in black, PU, its flawless, one thing that really stood out to me, was how its packaged. despite FedEx's attempts at totally destroying the box, as seems to be standard operating procedure for them. the packaging is literally bombproof. almost overkill, the likelihood of anyone getting the same, is pretty darn high, the chair is well packaged. it will arrive in great shape. assembly is braindead easy, and no trip to the toolbox is required. my only issue is the lumbar is not so great IMO, it's a very tall and stubble, also the knobs in a bad spot, other than that, I love the chair, all other adjustments are easy to reach, and I find very useful. I was worried that the chair would be too firm, after reading many reviews, while it is firm, it is very comfortable, especially if used for many hours, like gaming, till the sun comes up. or tracking, / mixing a new song. just my take.

I'm like 6'2" so I'm between the new 2022 Regular and XL. Whereas with the 2020 version of the Titan I appear to be right in the middle of there range. On the opposite side. I have a 2018 titan and I can't stand it anymore. I find myself with constant upper back pain, pain + fuzziness in the butt, along with fuzziness of the thighs. It's a great chair if you want to be in full recline, but thats about it imo. It genuinely makes me want to stay away from my desk as It's a chore to sit in for me. I am replacing it this week with a logitech x herman miller embody. I sat in one in store and it was a night and day difference. However, the chair is also 1395 before tax right now, so, I feel its ultimately unfair to compare the two. Secret Lab could have also fixed their padding issues in the newer models, I have yet to sit in one made after 2018. I will say however, the PU leather on my 2018 is still in *good* condition, it is just a little looser on the butt padding, but that could be from a lack of wiping it down and honestly, because of how hot it can get in the chair and how that affects you. Especially in those 100 degree summers.

@@meisaki931 Ill try to reply again after some time has passed, but its been 3-4 since I got the chair in my possession. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. Its quite a few steps over my old Secret Lab. It hugs your back so well and it is actually giving me decent support when I'm in an active upright position. For media, it is very comfortable as well, I put my feet up and it almost feels like I'm floating. No joke, I found myself experiencing the "free fall" sensation like I was falling back (after this happening multiple times I can guarantee, the chair was NOT tipping. It mainly had to do with where I placed my arms). For media consumption, I will be buying the Atlas headrest when it is available. While not needed, it would be a good addition. The headrest is definitely not needed nor wanted when in the upright position.

This video solidified my decision and if secretlabs has any disposition to toss you a bone i will have no problem providing someone my order number. The only negative ill add for anyone reading this, and i do not have the chair yet, is; another video stated you needed to purchase a buffer between the cushion and frame to prevent squeaking. This seems like something that shouldve been included in the launch but ill hold off judgment until i recieve my chair. Thanks!

I have the 2020 softweave XL titan. His chair but the weave fabric model. I’d say your case is certainly special and if your back needs that much tender care after your surgery removal; I wouldn’t recommend the chair in your case. The integrated lumbar support for me is honestly so subtle I’m fine with it one or off. But again; thinking about your case you’d want probably like a Herman Miller type of deal.

@@revenge_is_golden7587 good to hear! I only mentioned bc I have disc issues in my back and neck and had a tendency to blame chairs for awhile instead of my lack of activity. Personally as much as I want a SL chair I don’t think they are a good design since the winged seat back looks like it will push your shoulders forward. That’s probably not great for your back either since I’m sure bad neck/shoulder posture puts more pressure on your back (but I’m no expert).
