What an episode to watch during the holidays hah. One thing to think about (at the risk of making you sad all over again) is that while for us the viewers it's the first time seeing it, for Ishigami it's been like that many times in the series already; If you recall, when he started having those thoughts he said "I want to go home"... Which is the same thing he said many times on this show, whenever he felt embarrassed or thought he messed up something (like when he commented on Chika's smell, and she called him creepy)... His "I want to go home" moments were played as comedy back then, but in his mind it was probably the same thing he experienced in this episode, i.e. "I want to go home because I keep failing, and everyone thinks I'm a freak". Hell, Chika (without any ill intent) even called him creepy, the same thing these people called him after he beat up Ogino. For us it was funny, it was just comedy back then in S1, but for him, it was a nightmare.

I know, I started to think of all those times and it made me cry again. It took me an hour to stop crying. My eyes were so swollen. Hahaha! 🤣

It's easy to forget but Otomo had no idea what happened. Ishigami took all of that on his own shoulders so she wouldn't find out. In her eyes, she finally got to release her anger over her breakup, which she attributed to Ishigami's attack.

Minor spoilers ahead: It may not be adapted to the anime thou. There’s a bonus page in the Blu-ray release I think, which shows that Otomo wasn’t there to unload on Ishigami but she got jealous when saw him having fun with the cheerleading squad and talking to the vice leader.

This is such a good episode! I love that the whole student council worked together on the report that saved Ishigami (even Iino! It's not spelled out, but her demanding that he be allowed to graduate in the flashback from episode10 causes the Principal to overhear and bring it to the Student Council's attention, so without her secretly looking out for him they would've never known!)

19:36 that wretched tg (chika+makki+terako) club 😂also if you notice, in the end credits.. ishigami now smiles compared to the previous endings. otomo the girl, was ignorant. you can be mad at her but its really not her fault. she didnt deserve ishigami protecting her, but aint that just life? this series is truly beautiful. season 1 was slow, but it was important because it sets up moments like these. this show only gets better.

i would prefer not since it would defeat the porpuse of their character, ishigami did that not out of love but out of justice and doesnt miko to suffer the same he did becouse of that. Making them be toguether would obscure that all they do is becouse they think is right and not becouse is them especifically

9:48 the sutera makes another appearance! One of the segments in the previous episode might help you understand why Ishigami managed to catch the attention of the StuCo who helped him continue attending school in the first place. Technically Ishigami said “shut up, idiot”, but idk why the translator translated it as it was, maybe they were also feeling emotional lol. While I don’t completely blame Ootomo’s actions since she’s a victim too, at least her presence ultimately helped Ishigami get over his past for the better. The last episode of season 2 is next… what a journey it’s been.

25:47 well about that- Do you remember when Miyuki's lil sister first came to the student council because she was worried about him when she heard about a guy got sent to a remote country with his family? And kaguya assured her that she'll protect Miyuki, don't worry about it. It was actually that bf guy. Kaguya arrenged it (or just told her powerful "friends" to arrenge him) Kaguya cares about ishigami like a lil brother. Of course that bf got punished for what he did. Kaguya is absolutely terrifying, but she's the sweetest girl at the same time. This also shows how much Miyuki and Kaguya cares about him.
