Fun fact: Chris Hemsworth is described as the "most sensitive Hemsworth brother". He didn't like conflict, he liked to sew, he was never a bully, he was very much the stereotypical middle child--creative, peacekeeping and sensitive. The reason he's considered the most attractive of all the brothers even if Liam could challenge him looks-wise is because he's a warm, kind, sensitive person, and is unafraid to show it. Given that he gets a lot of big bruiser badass roles, the revelation that he's not only a great dad but that he's always been "the sensitive one" who clearly shares affection and is completely and totally secure in his masculinity is extremely attractive to both women and men.

I think a lot of people are watching all these videos, because I meet people who try to do all these things that these videos recommend, but everything goes out the window when something goes wrong and then their true character comes out and you see their true colors. To me, being genuine and being a nice person is the best way to be popular. Most people can see through other people when they are trying to employ a technique and trying to "be popular". Maybe it's best not to try to "be popular" but to be a good person who cares about others, and then you will be popular.

Yea true, the same goes in opposite direction, I don't like at all when men of my "dating" age touch me. If you are over 40 or under 15, it is fine, otherwise just creepy no matter how friendly the touch is.

I think it depends on who the other person it is and also how you personally act while you do that. I am a "Universal toucher" and it does mislead certain people but once me and that person is in the group. They usually start to realize that I'm just a "touchy" person and that I'm not interested in that way. If they drop hits that they like me, I try to basically tell them I see them only as friends with verbal language and body language. If it start getting too weird though then I don't touch that person at all while still showing in good with everyone else.

I was just about to comment on that when I ran across your comment Richa Prasad. I feel women are more scrutinized for being touchy or showing interest in conversation because sometimes it is interpreted incorrectly. I would like a guide (for women) on how to act without leading people on, or without it being misinterpreted as sexual.

I think that the point about his jokes elevating the people around him is spot on. I've actually noticed how much of a difference this makes in real life. When I was in middle school/early high school, my friends and I would constantly make jokes at one another's expense. The "haha you have no friends" or the "what the hell are you wearing?" type. We would pass it off as silly and not serious, but it made me feel like crap in the long run, and actually hurt my self-esteem a lot. Now, we all make jokes that elevate others, and everything is so much better. We don't do it insincerely either. Not saying this is the only reason my friendships are in a better place nowadays, but it played its part. tl;dr: Make jokes that build your friends up, not tear them down. It really does make a difference.

Ellie Em my husband has a humor like that. I’ve said to be his friend you have to have thick skin and “get” him or else you won’t hold up and take it personally. In his defense, he can take as well as give too. But it can be too much sometimes, especially when it’s just a constant barrage of playful insults, it just creates a negative vibe. He’s very charismatic otherwise though. People love him generally.

Great video! I'd love to hear about how to do this as a female. I don't see a lot of women touching a lot of people so I feel like the universal touching part probably only works for men. Also, I wish more women would elevate other men and women around them as much as men tend to do (always envious of the closeness of male friendships, where they constantly build each other up, support them, and also checks them by being honest with them). I need to step up, but ladies, we need to step up!

Being a "touchy" person doesn't have to be creepy if you know how to play it. For example, in the case of men, we know touching women can lead to awkward situations. It won't happen if you know how to ask for consent without literally asking out loud. You can offer a hand to a girl for her to hand five you or a fist to fist bump. You can touch her arm with your elbow to make her complice of a joke. And the back rubbing, done well, is another great way of touching without looking like a creep. Also, showing confidence, especially in the case of straight men, but not being cocky is a plus. Don't let external judgement affect you: yes, Chris had his nails painted and was comfortable saying it out loud. And a final tip: be cool. People tend to walk away from over sensitive/passionate people. They will take you much more seriously if you know how to control your temper. Being in that situation anyone could have been "offended" by Jimmy Fallon's "haha oh, really? You actually had your nails painted? " That sounded like he was making fun of Chris. And yet Chris took it smoothly.

Birki gts Also if people are born with physical defects or suffer injuries which deform them. They have pretty iron clad reasons for being unattractive.

The physical touch thing was really helpful, I feel like there's a bit of a wall in terms of platonic intimacy with my friends as I am very wary of being touch and touching other people due to past traumas. I used to be a very touchy person and would always cuddle up with my friends and I would like to get back to being that person, so that section of the video was extremely helpful! Thank you :)

A lot of people heard “it also helps that he’s good looking” and just took that as the reason they’re not more popular. So self defeating

Well that’s bollocks because if you go back to school the good looking ones are always the most popular, when you grow up, it’s just a playground full of adults, trust me. If he was 5 ft 4 balding bloke with the same traits he wouldnt nearly be as popular. Use some common sense

@@jimmysmith736 I was very good looking in high school, but wasn't popular due to extreme shyness. :( I'll admit that I wasn't the scapegoat or anything like that due to my looks, but people regarded me as a snob and were often afraid to approach me. My point being is that looks do matter, but only to a certain extent because character including confidence also helps.
