I believe there's a theory that 'Sandy Island' was a for of IP protection, by the original cartographer. By adding a non-existing island, he could see if other publishers were simply copying his charts, rather than mapping landmasses themselves.
@amehak19222 жыл бұрын
No. It's because of the French expedition thinking there's an island there. Mapmakers usually put take towns; for example, there's a 'town' in England that's actually an empty field if you drove there.

@sirxanthor5 ай бұрын
@tankeater That's actually illegal now. That practice stopped long ago. Not sure if it's a state or federal law, I'll research it and get back. My understanding is a plane crashed into the ocean needing to make an emergency landing, and no land existed. I'm talking about 40 years ago. Makes me wonder, if MH370 suffered simular fate, now that I think about it.

@@sirxanthor Sandy Island wasn't taken off maps until 2012, just goes to show that they had a brilliant idea. I was referring to centuries old maps that was plagiarized, not now... @@sirxanthor What about international law? 😊
@sirxanthor3 ай бұрын
@paulvamos7319 Never researched it, but from what I see other countries do, if a law exists, they do opposite, especially if it has something to do with the USA. South Korea for example, believe company policy overule law. Life is a game company believes it doesn't matter if a kid ordered something or not. If they put an item into an account, they can charge whatever they want. If that same kid went to a supermarket to buy eggs, and a clerk drops a pack of cigarettes into his order, and kid says to take then out, but cashier rings it up regardless and says no refunds, it's illegal, that cashier will 1)Be arrested for selling tabaco to a miner, charged with child endangerment, and credit card fraud. Plus card company will charge the illegal sale back if the store manager hasn't already done so. Both situations actually happened, except cashier wasn't arrested, just given a warning and manager refunded the money charged. As for the south Korea company, it's a simple small claims case as though they are based in Korea, their servers and merchant accounts operate here in the USA. $3200 small claims to be exact. International law, the only thing in my life that even came close, which was my ex in-laws abducting my first wife, the laws didn't apply because they had diplomatic immunity. I remember the first time I ever heard it mentioned was in a Leathal Weapon movie, and was like, that doesn't really exist, just the movies. We'll, Sadly it does. It's why I left NY and moved to CA. Was just to painful to live there and the only satisfaction I got, was the parents being deported. Actually, the mother was. The father was allowed to remain to sell off property and leave. I can do Civil and Small claims easily. If I ever had to actually do an out of country lawsuit, I'd be screwed.

@@sirxanthor Ok, wow! I understand a little bit of your pain as I was married and now she is married to another guy! 😥 I don't know much about international law but, don't other countries have to obey US law when visiting? But, just like the movies, diplomatic immunity don't stop a bullet or a long walk off a short pier! 😅 Thank you for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend!

To bad Google Earth didn't exist in 1980s. In 1981 I went with my mom and a few of her friends children to this beach which had a boat like ramp that led to the beach, which had a boardwalk and stores on huge railroad ties. The beach had these huge boulders I liked to climb. I kept asking to go back, then finally got my dad to take me, but what I saw, was just shocking. The ramp, had metal girders running across it with huge warning sign, completely blocking the ramp. From the side, you could see what looked like a 60 foot drop into the ocean. There was no beach, no buildings, only the tips of the boulders with buoys to warn boats sticking out of the water. Would have loved to know what happened to the place.

The structures shown in the Egyptian desert at 13:15 that "UFO experts" speculate is an alien base of a secret government installation where aliens are kept is actually a soviet built S-75 surface to air missile battery of the kind that shot down Gary Powers and his U2 spy plane in 1960. It is easily recognisable due to it's distinctive layout composed of a radar and command bunker surrounded by six missile launchers located in semi fortified positions. Egypt has a number of these batteries located around the country and if you follow the motorway it is located next to further north you will find another battery on the other side of the motorway just before the next interchange. There is also the fact that the S-75 is one of the worlds most recognisable and widely deployed missile defence systems given that it has been deployed in countries all over the world for the last sixty years.. When deployed each of the battery's six missile launchers would be located in each of the round circles and the radar system would be located in the centre. where there is usually a bunker where additional missiles would stored. The two structures in the video were likely part of Cairo' s air defence system although it appears that military hardware was never deployed at this site even though it was deployed to other similar sites nearby. This particular site has ramps leading up to the roofs of it's two bunkers where mobile radar equipment would have been positioned in an elevated location so that it could look "sideways" for low flying aircraft approaching across the desert that would be attempting to approach under the radar by flying close to the ground. This particular installation was built in 2011 and was likely never used. It was subsequently demolished eight years later in 2019 to make way for what appears to be a huge bus station that is being built as part of a massive project that involves relocating Egypt's administrative capitol to a new purpose built site outside Cairo.

The graveyard tennants clip is easily explained, Between the cameraman and the graveyard is a chainlink fence you can see top of it going across the top passing infront of the big tree to the side and the grim reaper is actually just the plant/bush directly under it that at some time grown and got trapped in the chainlinks and snapped off from the plant and left hanging in that particular position (if you look at the depth of the colour of the supposed reaper and you will notice that it is the same as the plant life in the forground and darker than what you see in the graveyard background because its in the shade under the huge tree next to it)

Actually it depends on the area. The area's where googles contracted drivers are tend to be more up-to-date than areas where they are not. For example, my area of Vegas tends to get updated almost once a year (the most recent being last year, 2021, for my neighborhood, before that, it was 2018), on the other hand the area on the other side of town hasn't been updated in almost six years. Also, I have seen some areas where google has gone off-road. There is a road to the north of Vegas that leads to a private shooting range near a prison that google has apparently gone down (which makes no sense, as there is nothing to see, plus the property owner actually sued them for doing that because the area is off limits to cameras and other video recording devices due to it being located near the prison)

For this to be an actual spy plane it would have to be much bigger. Look how big the SR71 is, hell even a "small" fighter jet like an F16 is massive when next to a car. I don't even think it's a boat unless it's a very small boat. If it is any kind of vehicle or aircraft, it's tiny and a one seater.

@shawnlong40396 ай бұрын
Scientology is really bizarre. Then again, all religions are just human creation and/or just a copycat patchwork stitching of ancient religions. From talking snakes, virgin births, death and resurrections to the entire globe covered in water, people continue to amaze me that they are that gullible. There is clear evidence that prayer does not work despite the Bible promising prayers will be answered. Christian theology is incoherent to the point of absurdity. God killing his son so he can forgive our future sin is like me breaking my son’s legs so I can forgive my neighbor in case she ever parks her car on my drive. It is quite ridiculous. Muhammad taught scientific lies. He also taught other lies, such as lifespans to be limited to 100 years. If this were divine words, how do you explain the 700,000+ people in the world currently over 100 years old? These are just a few reasons to refrain from any religion. Believe in science. It is real and ever-changing as technology and understanding evolves.

While Scientology is absolutely insane in many ways, the “soul” is in fact, infinite. It’s pure energy. It doesn’t just go away when the meat suit fails us. “The Soul” can move, or stay. It can imprint itself onto a location. It can move in loops, replaying highly emotional/energetic events. We can come back to life with short bursts of controlled energy, yet too much/too long will kill us. The soul being infinite is probably the only thing I can see validity in, within the Scientology belief system

Most likely government red tape. Any ‘discoveries’ must be overseen by an authorized Egyptian, and things not supporting their narratives are not examined. And, if it can be looted by the government folks, all the better. Hawass will be first one there.

I can definitely see what most cannot, but at 1:33. What you are seeing is a giant depiction of the Tree of Life carved into the earth using the landscape. The triangle at the base of the tree is another depiction, what i see is a small well at the bottom, and a city in the background among a cliff of some sort. The lines coming out of the triangle at the base are the trees roots branching out. from the triangle two lines curved inwards, upward into the leaves of the tree, where you can see the bloom of the tree. So beautiful once you are able to allow your mind to see it at once. God Bless

North, South, East, and West. The first two are easy to find. For the last two, try 0° and 180°. If you don't want such arbitrary points, try Mt Everest (Nepal/Tibet) (or K2 or one of the others nearby) and Mt Chimborazo (Ecuador) (the closest point on earth to the stars). FYI Everest is the highest mountain above sea level, Chimborazo is the furthest from the center of the earth (nearly 7000' further than the top of Everest), and Mauna Kea is the tallest mountain from base (WAY under the ocean) to peak. If you want to stick with furthest out towards space, there are several (~8 IIRC) located close together in South America, so together they would make one corner; it's easiest to call it the furthest one, hence Chimborazo, though Huascaran is only something like 25 to 50 feet shorter. So to stick with the closest to space, the next would be Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, over 1000 feet lower than Chimbo, but still 5000 or 6000 feet closer to space than Everest. That easily gives you two corners and as I said at the top, use the N & S poles for the other two. FYI 2 - Since no culture has considered the earth flat and square (not even flat-earthers), the idiomatic phrase 'four corners of the earth' in an historical sense should be taken sort of like 'the sun rose' when it didn't; the earth revolved under it, so a generic idea of as far from civilization as you could get, no matter which of the cardinal directions you went (N, S, E, W). FYI 3 most cultures anywhere close to the equator, or even 25°-35° from it, drew their maps with east at the top. Others did their directions as up or down hill, not necessarily by absolute elevation, but by whether you went uphill or down to get out of your own area, no matter how much of the opposite you had to do once you were away from 'home.'

The antarctic disc at 11:20 actually is a disc. It may be embedded into the base of the rock formation to the right, but it certainly is NOT a rounded melt pool. (ʘ_ʘ) The tendency here seems to be to debunk everything instead of investigating it further. "These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along now." Pareidolia doesn't really exist. It's just a BS debunking tool, but even if we grant that there WERE such a thing, that doesn't explain the existence of exquisite details like eyelids, eyelashes, uniform cheekbones, lips, nose, nostrils, and teeth. Keep trying, though.
@waldennelson75392 жыл бұрын
I do agree that it's probably embedded in the rock, but Pareidolia certainly does exist. It is a BS debunking tool, and a very useful one at that, but it is real. Very, very real.
