I can't believe you didn't include the Strid at Bolton Abbey, Yorkshire, England. It's got a 100% mortality rate. Nobody who's ever gone into it has ever survived. It looks like an innocent little stream, maybe 6' wide at its narrowest, so people dare themselves to jump over it. Heck, I wouldn't go within 10' of it, in case the rocks and moss are too slippery.

I live near a dangerous river too. The New River. There is a stretch near me that has an odd make up. The depth is 5 feet until you reach the county line of Pulaski. Then the depth shoots to 110 feet with undertow currents. Numerous people have perished due to that. They assumed it was shallow ALL the way across and tried to wade over only to get pulled under.

"Natron" is the french, english and german word for "Sodium." Natrium" is the original name for sodium on the periodic table. Later, it was changed to sodium.
@rwandaforever6744

True. "Natron" is usually used to refer to a mixture of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), which was mined in the Wadi El Natrun in Egypt and used for embalming mummies. Today we often refer to Natron as baking soda (NaHCO3).

I dont know what scarier, being stuck in a cave system above water, or being trapped in a cave system under water.
@San-lh8us
@San-lh8us 7 ай бұрын
really? the under water seems obviously much worse to me, because in both scenarios you are stuck in a cave system, but if you manage to walk or climb your way out of it on the above water cave system, you are free, whilst on the underwater, you not only need to walk, and climb, you also need to swim. If the caves are both very dark, being lost on the above water one just means you are just lost, while being lost while trying to find your way out underwater just means you're dead

Naruto Whirlpools - another anime/game inspiration: in Pokemon Gold/Silver set in the Johto (which is really based on the Kansai region of Japan) in which the "whirlpools" are found - they are placed between (Asagi) Olivine City and (Tamba) Cianwood City. It’s like the people who come up to Peggy’s cove in Nova Scotia 🇨🇦, which is home to a beautiful old lighthouse on some VERY angry and unpredictable Atlantic waters meters away. There are signs everywhere “Do NOT stand on the black rocks!”. The big black rocks are black because ocean waves 🌊 will jump up without warning and soak them. So. If you are dumb enough to stand on them, there’s a darn good chance one of those waves will take you with it, and into the Atlantic Ocean. Or you’ll slip and fall!..from the wet and uneven rock surface. And if either occurs, rescue is nearly impossible. Two tourists from Ontario recently stood on the black rocks despite the signs posted EVERYWHERE. Both were swept into the ocean. I believe one person passed away and the other may have survived though I’m not certain. Yeah. People. Are dumb. Peggy’s cove is an absolutely GORGEOUS place, and is a HUGE tourist spot, that brings in a ton of people from all over the world regardless of the season. So it’s absolutely worth going to see. But if this reckless behaviour continues, we may lose the right to visit it. And that would be a shame. So if you go, have an awesome time! Explore, see the sights! Just don’t stand on the damn black rocks! Gosh darn! 😅. Take care!

14:34 Reminds me of this lake in Lakey, Texas. It has the Frio River go through there. I had been going since I was 5. Anyway, first time I had gone to the Frio River, I was 7. I was playing in this lake that was near some pipes. However, at the time, what I didn't know was a few years ago that a 6 year old boy, a boy my age, and a dog had gotten sucked into the pipes. The six year old had drowned, 7 year old made it out in time, and so did the dog. Luckily, some guy knew about it, and got me out in time. If a had drifted a few inches more, I probably wouldn't be here. Today they have a sign that says 'STAY AWAY FROM THE PIPES'. One year, when I was with my sister and mother waiting for someone to arrive and go back to camp, I saw a small whirlpool. Let's just say, I gave it a wide berth.

Boiling alive is probably better than drowning. When it comes to drowning, you instinctively hold you breath as best as you can to avoid death. The drowning then comes after you can't hold it anymore. The boiling kills you all the way through and there's no way to resist it really. It'd be more painful, but I'd rather that than fear for my life as I start to loose my breath.
@alvexok5523
@alvexok5523 8 ай бұрын
What do you mean? Both ways kill you. And boiling alive will be an even more painful death than drowning, although drowning becomes painful too when you continue to not be able to take in any more oxygen. I would much rather die quietly in my sleep than to die in an agonizingly painful way. Surely you'll agree with me on that
@UncleHornieAUS
@UncleHornieAUS 8 ай бұрын
@@alvexok5523 Either you're dense or are intentionally trolling. The point I made is that you can attempt to resist drowning which invokes terror of impending death. You can't resist being boiled alive, meaning you can't fight it.

There is a man-made lake near my hometown and it does have spillway, but they are outside the actual lake and behind a fence, close to dam control building, or however it is called, where workers are (the dam is for flood control, but also for getting water for near by settlements). Only if the water reaches certain level does it actually work as shown here. Usually, it is just some "weird thing" not many people get what it is used for. So somebody accidentally ending down there is almost impossible.

In the first place, if they just put in some concrete poles at the edge of these sinkholes to prevent people from being dragged in, no one would end up dead. Add a simple rope/chain between one of them and the land and they could self-help themselves despite being caught in the strong current. There's also all these 'lakes' that formed in past mines that were left. Seriously, couldn't they just stack all the sand and rock nearby while mining, only to mostly fill them back in with it once the mine closes? The people responsible for the design of these things should be held liable because of the combination of how obvious the threat should be and how easy it is to mitigate ahead of time.

5:53 - 6:05 - Which would be a more painful agonizing death? I think it'd be the bleach bath of feeling like you're being boiled alive. But drowning in itself is also agonizing, you ever hold your breath for more than a minute you may notice you start feeling a horribly all-over body pain and pressure that starts building up to where you're forced to let your breath go. Imagine that feeling yet not being able to stop it and it keeps getting worse, that's what drowning feels like! I would choose NEITHER. I only hope that when it's my time to go, I pass away quietly in my sleep, that it will not be painful

I know a scuba diver that was instructed by a dive master that later died along with 3 others in jacobs well.Somehow they kicked up so much debris they couldn’t see and all ran out of air….BTW the tanks don’t contain oxygen but just plain old dried compressed air

I believe that the eagles nest sink hole is connected to a campground called Jenny’s springs if not that’s another place in Florida that is dangerous for diving

Watch out for the spirit of dark and lonely water! It was a safety ad campaign in the 70s here in the uk, warning kids to stay away from bodies of water. Creepy but memorable

I doubt it’s on here, but the Fraser river in British Columbia, “The mighty Fraser,” usually claims at least three people per year. Usually, drunk teenagers. The undertow is deadly.

Dude, you totally forgot about Lake Piru, a reservoir located in Los Padres National Forest and Topatopa Mountains of Ventura County, California, created by the construction in 1955 (70 years ago) of the Santa Felicia Dam on Piru Creek! The place is basically cursed, as in magically fatale misfortune. It's infamous for a multitude of bizarre disappearances that always end with drowning, and it wasn't until Naya Revera became its latest victim that the authorities legally prohibited swimming forever. Harrison Ford once crashed his helicopter into that godforsaken lake once

Hey Be Amazed I’ve been to Jacobsen well many times my brother and dad even went scuba diving from lee way cottages down to it and it’s really fun besides the fact that I’ve seen someone sink and not come out and so I looked it and I saw three body’s just floating near the bottom of the 30ft drop

There's lake Ijen, a volcanic body of water with a PH of 0.3 (at its shores), there's a sulfur mine near there and lava and fires apparently glow blue at night because of the chemicals.
