Awesome and informative video. It made me laugh a lot! I wonder if Spencer is part of the Gravemakers. That would certainly make sense with the wanted Cazador poster and Spencer's class (we already know that they are led by a knight of Torm, a deity associated with paladins). The Gravemakers are known to hunt down the undead of Baldur's Gate (whilst they protect those who have fallen), and even operate out the burned Szarr mansion (and guess who is a Szarr)!

This was so fun to watch!! It looks like the character model they used for Spencer is the same as the one they used for the trader in the grove. Also, I found a music box (perhaps just A music box and not THAT music box) at some point in my game and didn't try using it to see if it would heal me, I just put it with my other "cool stuff" pile in camp. (I've been collecting every crystal that you can pick up in the Underdark and putting them on every surface of camp). Looking forward to more BG3 videos!

I don't really like the way they're approaching morality in this game. I'd like something more ambiguous, that you can debate with friends, like some quests in New Vegas, instead of plain good vs evil. I think no one goes the evil route because it's just too extreme. Only an actual psychopath would join a band of monsters who are clearly unwilling to help with the tadpole, to sack a camp full of refugees for no good reason.

That's true! But I think Larian anticipated this considering the kids in the grove are, iirc, immortal until the raid while the goblin kids are fair game from the word go. But I almost reloaded when I found Doni during the raid in my on evil playthrough, adding Lotan to the mix would just kill me.

Is this Larian engine terminology? Generally, a skybox is just a cube that renders sky and other distant 2d objects behind all geometry and VFX, and a scene - a unique level or map, where objects can be placed, with one or multiple skyboxes.

I'm not sure! I went with Skybox because when I got myself out of each individual map/level I was in one big blue box with clouds at the top. Skybox seemed to be the closest match, terminology wise.

What you are calling a "skybox" is a scene, sometimes called a level (but this can get confusing if a level from a gameplay perspective stretches across multiple scenes). A skybox is the art asset that creates the illusion of a sky in the world you are in. It's just a texture or a group of textures. Often, completely indoor levels will not even have a skybox, but they will be contained in a scene.

I guess it's sort of a mod? I just go through the unused outfits in the files and port them in over existing outfits. It's a destructive modification though because it can alter all instances of the armour, so for example if I port something over the top of the Githyanki Halfplate appearance for male Githyanki then any male Githyanki wearing it is suddenly wearing something that looks very different. I'd call it "quick and dirty" compared to the more sophisticated outfit mods on the Nexus.

Thanks Bernard! I'm afraid I couldn't really hazard a more informed guess than anyone else on the next patch's release date. Larian don't do small sequential updates re: the sort of content I'm looking at, so what's currently in game has either been in from earlier on in development or was added with patch 3. No real way to tell how development is progressing outside what has/hasn't been updated between patch 2 and 3 without having an in at Larian. Watching the steamDB page is probably the closest any of us can get.

Does Act 1B suggest that early access only includes half of what act 1 will be in the official release?

Not exactly half, but it does suggest that Moonrise and some of the surrounding areas are considered Act 1 rather than Act 2. Act 2 seems to involve Baldurs Gate specifically. Act 3+ are a bit of a mystery.

@@Chubblot Sadly no, I quit when Cyberpunk came out and now I have just been waiting for path 4. If what Larian said before is still true then 90% of the team is working on finishing the game and 10% on updating the EA, so I had gotten worried that they pulled a Divinity 2 and abandoned it until release. It's not February yet though, so we'll see. Also wow that Nerela character. She puts some serious weight behind the "Tieflings are all secretly evil" theory if she is not scrapped content.

Ah that's a shame but I get it. I haven't updated my Reddit thread much and I think I'm approaching the cutoff for being able to. Nerela does suck, but I've got most of the tiefling voice lines extracted now and not too many of them have anything nasty about them. I have no emotional connection to either the druids, teiflings, and goblins. So as a gamer who recently played Divinity original sin 2 I just kill them all and steal their loot. Don't care if I turn into a mindflayer, and don't care if they are a companion with a cool quest and or a fun time in bed. I will just start killing people and eating their brains, while taking their loot. This is the way. To play a Larian game since majority of the tragic characters will end up A) dying randomly farther in the quest, B) betray you, or C) Act like a prick.
