As an ex military trained medical professional AND a pro motorcycle rider for over 43 years; knowledge is power. When it comes to an accident scenario having LEARNED what to do in an emergency situation, beit YOU or others, is not just for motorcyclists but ALL motor vehicle users, well worth taking the time and research to do. 👀 St Johns ambulance service run 'first aid' courses AND they can be beneficial IF it is an advantage re your WORK place to have a qualified / certificated 'first aider' on the premises et YES they do charge BUT most companies et will PAY those charges (legit business expense et so can be claimed back et ) 👍 The other options are also a good ones. DO remember the core basics apply. As a motorcyclist I ALWAYS carried a reasonably decent FIRST AID kit. Surprising number of you out there who DON'T ! 👀 Blood and bleeding. When you've spent time working in a busy accident and emergency department the ones who walk in with blood all over their face et? Surprising how many are small cuts to the scalp SO DON'T get hyped ! I'm not going to go into depth re certain scenarios et The main ones are ensuring the rider is BREATHING, NOT bleeding profusely, SAFE from any further threats /vehicle users et AND NEVER EVER if an accident with the rider is looking seriously severe from impact et REMOVE the helmet OR TWIST the head.. YES you CAN move the body WITH the HEAD HELD securely by someone as the rest of the body is moved.. et ie the HEAD is SECURED in traction.. 👀REMOVING the helmet in the event that there is a HEAD INJURY can lead to massive haemorrhaging within the skull / brain. An intracranial hematoma is a collection of blood within the skull. It's usually caused by a blood vessel that bursts in the brain. It may also be caused by trauma such as a car accident or fall. The blood may collect in the brain tissue or underneath the skull, pressing on the brain. TWISTING of the neck especially when removing the helmet OR moving the patient can also IF there is SPINAL damage, cause DAMAGE SUCH AS PARALYSIS. There are VERY VERY few reasons WHY a helmet needs to be removed. HOWEVER nough said, do the right courses and you will understand the whys and wherefores.. 👀

For viewers in Australia, the Emergency Plus app has the what three words function. I know from experience it works and shortens the time you spend telling 000 where you are and what is needed.

Thanks for the video pretty impressed the service you have in the UK. I wish Australia 🇦🇺 had something like that, particularly being free there would be absolutely no excuse to attend. I would go further to say it should be a prerequisite to acquiring your bike licence at all levels! Thanks again 👍

I can't believe these guys are an NGO and that basic training is free! I just paid 60 euros for the same thing, and it wasn't bike-specific. Doc Bike deserve great praise! Poor Alyson, though 😆

Very interesting upload but I had to stop halfway... I'm a former EMT with PTSD and I'm still triggered by ambulance emergency lights and the sort. But still... wish we had these in Switzerland where I live.
