I love this. I am deciding to compete in my first local pageantry for next year. I am SO excited. I am hiring a coach in the fall. I am 5'9 in height, I bought the Chinese Laundry Teaser heel and I can hardly walk in it. I decided to go with the Touch Ups Queenie Platform style that I found on Pageant Planet.

Hi Dani could you please explain the difference between the preliminary competition and finals? Do the participants have to do a different routine for each of them?

I talked about prelims and finals a bit in this episode, but that answer to that question depends on the pageant system. In some pageants, take for example Miss Universe 2017, the pageant held prelims in a small ballroom, but finals were on a large stage. In this case the contestants walked two different stage routines. Larger pageants will often change the routine, but smaller pageants will keep them the same.

This was so helpful. Also, I was thinking I found a brand on line I might try getting a dress from ones. I try some on in person to get a feel for the style I want. Then I found out the brand is hit or miss! We're would you recommend getting a dress for someone on a tight budget?
