It surprises me how many producers either don't apply or don't know about swing/shuffle. It is very important for when you need a certain bounce or groove in your beats. The crazy thing about it is, is that I just learned about it myself not too long ago, and it has totally changed the way my music sounds, and believe me, it is for the better.

Just had a great result applying 100 percent to my groove so looked up swing maschine as it’s kind of a mystery what it does exactly and here we found eachother. Thanks for your perfect explanation. The first few percent could hear the 8th note delayed but on higher settings I couldn’t definitely tell what was happening, which bugged me, until now!

Thank you so much! Great tutorial, I couldn't find the group and individual swing settings in Maschine 2.0, I was afraid they were gone and replaced by nudge thanks for showing me!

Is there a way to emulate the ppq (384) of MPC2500, MPC60, MPC3000? This would effect note placement quantized or not. I just bought a used Maschine and plan to test once my power supply is delivered.

So is maschine swing better than mpc? How can maschine precisely emulate that classic mpc swing everyone tells about?

Hello, I usually apply swing but my most recent project seems to not be affected. Any idea why this might be happening?

this is a great tutorial for specific swing using the percents but is there a way to get perfect septuplets in maschine? For example in Ableton you can crunch 7 notes into a 1 bar pattern and put the notes at a 4:3 ratio the result is a perfect septuplet. Is there anyway to be more perfect in maschine and not have to use the swing. For a particular track I have I would like the sounds to land more perfecltly than just some random percent markings.
@nicname9210 жыл бұрын
that was brilliant, could you do more on the other cycles included in the groove of maschine please

is there a way to swing only certain patterns, and not the whole track?

YES SELECT SOUND FOR JUST A SOUND, GROUP FOR GROUPS

Yo Cadi i dont think thats what he meant. I'm assuming he's talking about only have part of the sound have swing on certain sections of the pattern and not others. Easy way to solve that just automate the swing. Great for transition effects too.

Is there a way from the Maschine software to set the velocity at fixed when recording midi using an external third party keyboard? I know how to do this from the Maschine hardware, but I want to be able to do the same from the software because I don't always have the hardware with me. Thank you.

Awesome tutorial my friend I'm really picky on where my sub's go but you got my vote could I make a request? Can you do a tutorial on snare fills, side stick fills, in machine and maybe add some of your new swing techneeks to it with a hip hop producer in mind I would love you forever for that. Keep up the good work and if you don't mind I'm gonna post this on future producer.com so my friends can see

the normal MPC like swing is 1/8 on Maschine
@DopamineOverload3 жыл бұрын
Baffles me how Maschine is basically the only hardware/software combo that has a stupidly-easy master/global swing. Can't understand why all these years later, with various DAWs and hardware, swing needs to be applied as a multi-step process, or destructively.

Why did you change the Kick to 1/4 Swing instead of the 1/8 default?
@Adsrsounds10 жыл бұрын
Try it! The 1/8 cycle has no effect here, but the 1/4 cycle works just the way as shown in the video.

If your new to Machine this is no help cause he doesn't show you how he even got to the swing control. Not a fan of ADSR tutorials for stuff. It all about what they know there really not teaching.
@MattCollisMusic7 жыл бұрын
why waste time with the technical stuff? Show us a good swing groove first and then work backwards... for what I've heard so far the swing is dorky sounding in maschine
@absaloj6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Collis i couldn’t get past those static sounding instruments. 🙃
@KegelLicht5 жыл бұрын
it has even more optiuons than the MPC and you can adjust it in realtime which you can with an MPC ;)
its not a swing is a feel of quantized drums on mpc..on maschine when all its on grid is robotic as hell on mpc is not..its ot a swing is a random ms nudge that mpcs do even ren and studio do that...maschine not.
