I liked the 200X series because it built on the MOTU lore. Call me a "casual fan", because IDK the Faceless One was Evil-Lyn's dad until 200X. Too bad the series ended, because I wanted to see more of the expanded lore explained (such as "Pre-Ternia"). Evil-Lyn became my fav 200X character & I was glad when they expanded on her lore. The Faceless One was a cool character, because he was extremely powerful, but cursed, & basically was "neutral". I liked how he was tied to both Evil-Lyn & Skeletor & they shared similar motifs (in 200X). Too bad we never got accessories to show him as Nikolas Powers because that would've made the fig even cooler.

I am a HUGE fan... so please don't take this the wrong way... I have every MOTUC figure, but the Faceless One is the only one I ever "took a knife to" out of frustration... basically the design of the "cape" or "cloak"... It never sat right on the figure, so i eventually cut it in pieces and used glue... it wasn't a perfect solution, but, I just couldn't handle that particular part of the design the way it was presented. I was curious if you ran into a similar issue while developing this particular MOTUC figure.... or maybe not with Faceless One, but someone else. (Disclaimer: This is the first time I ever publicly mentioned this, as I never felt the need to criticize MOTUC design... but this is out of genuine curiosity; 2nd note of interest: I highly prefer "rubber/plastic" over the "soft goods" approach, so cloth as a solution to these kinds of issues wouldn't have worked for me)
@darkwoods19544 жыл бұрын
I'm with you, I'm not a fan of soft goods. Most figure collectors seem to love it for some reason.
@GARY84ROCKS4 жыл бұрын
@@darkwoods1954 Thanks for mentioning that.. sometimes l feel I'm a big minority in this way. And, something else... rubbery material with sizable "give" ALWAYS seems to be the answer to these issues. I mean, people can criticize that stance however they want, but I can't tell you how many "soft goods" things have been screwy.. and how much hard plastic has shattered... but I never regretted a softer rubber piece. The problem with Faceless One's cloak thing (similar to King He-Man, King Grayskull, Ditzstroyer, etc) is how stiff the rubber is... and I could handle it on those other figures fine...it's just Faceless One that took "hard to manage" to the next level for me.
@darkwoods19544 жыл бұрын
@@GARY84ROCKS I rarely find that soft goods look real. The cloth doesn't have the weight of actual life size clothing so never hangs right and just looks kinda cheap and like dolls clothes. Molded yet soft rubber can be sculpted to look real but still pliable to not hinder articulation.
