I’ve never read the books so I’m just going on what you two were speaking about here, but the weirwood trees they never rot and they eventually petrify to stone so could it be that cause they are a magical instrument throughout this whole world that maybe winterfells crypts have been made of the petrified weirwood stone ??hence why they are so special?? Like the wall protecting the North could it have the weirwood in its foundation as well?? Just something that came to mind when you two were speaking it. GRRM based the Weirwood trees in Westeros on the supposedly magical Oak trees and Oak groves from the time of the Druids in Western Europe. Oak trees were said to be linked to the spirit world and have healing properties.

Targaryens being Dragon Lords, The magic they possess is basically they can create a mental bond with the dragons. You don't need to be blood of the Dragon to be a dragon rider. However, to fully control a dragon requires having blood of the dragon. An example of this, is Daenarys during her travel to Vaes Dothraki, she was able to control her Mare just by thinking where she wanted to go and how fast. She may have a slight warging ability. Arya is a warg, we know this in the books. Skinchanger? I don't think so. Bran Can warg and see through the eyes of the Crows/Ravens. If you noticed in the show, Bran was not warged into all of the Ravens. He was moving from one raven to another, watch the eyes. One of the 2 skinchangers in the show and in the books. The first being Varamyr Sixskins, the other being Jon Snow, its subtle but hear me out. In book one, when they find the direwolf pups. They were all leaving when Jon heard a noise, and everyone stated that they had heard nothing. Jon went straight to ghost and picked him up. He was the only one that heard him. The second to last chapter in a dance with dragons when Jon was being stabbed, All he said was Ghost. Jon skinchanged into Ghost.

Okay, explanation. A warg? A warg can any animal, not just a wolf. A skin changer not only can they warg an animal, but can control them. Arya was a ride along, she can see through their eyes, taste what they taste, etc. A skinchanger can not only warg animals but they can also warg into man. The Prologue in a dance with dragons actually explains this gift. Jon's body may have died, but he moved his spirit into ghost without thinking about it. In the show, SO6 EO1, Melisandre does her magic and nothing happens. She and everyone leaves the room, we see Ghost wake up, then stand a few moments later Jon wakes up and takes in his breath. At that moment Ser Davos re-enters the room. When asked by Melisandre she asks him, What did you see? Jon's reply was I saw nothing. He didn't know what happened only that he was stabbed.

The whole statement about “you’ll never walk again, but you will fly.” is a little paradoxical. If he means the ravens or dragons by flying, we would also be walking by warging wolves or Hodor. So, it would have to be literal, which I can’t see any way for that to happen. Maybe the difficulty of warging a dragon will take so much out of him, he’ll be stuck there and his entire being will melt with which ever dragon. That would make one badass dragon!

Great video! I truly hope that GRRM doesn’t make magic and power in Westeros and Essos part of some greater monotheistic other. I really like the polytheism and the idea that there may be many gods jostling for supremacy. I also like the idea that the gods are not always fair as they may be somewhat aloof to the sufferings of their adherents. To me, it makes it a far more interesting world.

In the show, Jon is under the water North of the wall for quite some time. He does seem to be able to tolerate ice (like Dani can tolerate fire. At least in the show. GRRM does say that Jon is somewhere between life and death at this point. I can't remember the word he used.

They tried for centuries to grow a Weirwood Tree at the Vale but it never took to the rocky soil... So they settled for the Weirwood Tree Throne... When Bran is being dragged while he's downloading from what the "Three Eyed Raven" initiated he could be anywhere and he'd receive this vital download! He got everything the Raven knew and more... Bran just needs to learn what's needed and what's not needed! He didn't know that Jon wasn't a bastard, that he was in fact the King of the Seven Kingdoms... So Bran needs help from Sam... and the books at the citadel

Jojen also told Bran that he’d never heard of any greenseer being able to skinchange a human like Bran does Hodor. So if he’s strong enough to skinchange Hodor he should be strong enough to skinchange a dead dragon. The Night King wargs the dead.

Two of my favorites! I think bc Viserion is dead he can warg him. I think like this bc of Hodor. I'm guessing Bran could warg Hodor bc he was simple minded, a dead animal should be easier. I don't think he can warg a living dragon which was kind of like Varamir six skins inability to change skin with a fully functioning human. I know it's an animal and a human but I'm referring to the mental superiority. I feel like those two stories were added for a reason. I think that will be one of the battles Bran has with the NK. I'm probably not making sense but my point is that in order for Bran to warg or skinchange such a magical creature it's has to be brought down in some way.

IDK - seems to me that Bran is being set up to usher in the Long Night - and THAT is when he is king. Brynden keeps telling him that he will love the darkness, he will be strong in the darkness, he will get his strength from the darkness... so - if Bran becomes King, that CAN'T be the end of the story... When they figure out how to take Bran down, the Spring will come. People will be dreaming of Spring as they are plotting how to overthrow King Bran.

Interesting points about Bran. Brandon Starks throughout history are repeatedly brought up as significant characters - maybe this is his legacy? Also, the whole "mind melting" comment, made me harken back to Hodor and how it fucked up his mind, royally. Why show us that? Bran obviously has a treacherous strength within him so maybe this was just to illustrate that he could A) take on something as large and ferocious as a dragon or B) could go all Men Who Stare at Goats on someone, if need be, either naturally or by purposefully putting the person through their own timeline to see what kind of terror would ensue in their life... like, for instance, becoming the NK who persues all these horrific acts, later in life.

I loved the video! You guys are awesome at brainstorming together. I saw that the blood raven looks just like the face on one of the trees. Does that mean that it is his tree? Or is it a coincidence? My big thing about Bran is that he is no longer a Stark. He “remembers what if felt like to be Brandon Stark” but he now knows and is so much more. What alarms me is that he is with his family at Winterfel, but if he is no longer a Stark, how do we know that he does in fact have their best interest at heart, if he became the raven and had to become neutral to all that is love or values related. To go back to what I heard on one of your videos or Talking Thrones, Bran might have an agenda now that he knows it all. There is no way Bran does not know what will happen. But! For some reason he is not telling his family about everything. If an army of whites was coming my way and I knew how to stop them, I would be calling all of my relatives and tell them what to do to save our blood line. But he is not telling them much, at all. Sort of like an outsider. I do wonder if there will be a lot more deaths among the characters (almost all of them), that could explain why is not briefing them in because he knows that they have to die because he has seen it. Anyway, I totally agree that him and the night king will have a battle of minds. But I believe that Bran will invade the night kings mind and when the night king is stabbed, I believe that Bran has to die with the night king for the night king to not be able to return (kind of like Voldemort and his horecruxes). While I got a minute to write a comment, I think the Nught King is moved by the usual force that moves any human stronger than any incentive-love. I believe that he wants his wife back. We don’t know what lies in the collapsed part of the crypts. I believe that he is after her. Revenge is just not it in my opinion. I think Bran wants to prevent Jon from stabbing Danny by sacrificing himself while invading the Night King’s mind, while he is killed. There’s another blood sacrifice for you. Thank you for reading. Had to stop at 9 mins to comment on weirwoods and human sacrifice. Seems to me the weirwoods would have a big problem with dragons, since when dragons kill, they burn people up and leave no blood. (Along those lines, perhaps the blue and black trees in Essos prefer ash to blood?) Just spit ballin'. Back to the vid.

I think the wierwoods are nature wisdom, with some spiritual discernment, all focused on eventual balance. Motive matters, purity of soul matters. I think Bran has at least one ability or more pure/complete access that is above anything anyone else can approach. It is that which Jojen and his uncle both told him he must find in time.

There’s also the Weirwood table of the Kingsguard. The Old God’s are the nature spirits of early people’s, early civilization’s anthropomorphized these powers of nature as deities. The people of Westeros are a European-like late medieval culture. You have to draw that parallel to see how they understand, view, organize and map the World. At this point, organized religion has largely taken over, but there are still some holdouts that follow spiritual naturalism. With that in mind, the Greensight (seers/prophets) and Warg/Skinchanging (therianthropy) are two separate though not necessarily exclusive abilities. For example; Jon, Arya and Varamyr Sixskins are Wargs, but not Greenseer’s. Jojen is a Greenseer, but not a Warg. Bran and Bloodraven have both abilities. I gotta ask, genetically, where did Bloodraven get his abilities?

It may of been Arya, Melisandra saw with the head of a wolf sitting with Bloodraven. She is mistaken for a boy too many times for it to just mean shes a tomboy and since Bran is the new Three Eyed Raven, Mel's vision could of been slightly off (Like all her other's). I also wonder if the Faceless Men and Red Priestesses are at odds. The Many Face God to me has to be connected to if not actually the Weirwoods. That said Bran serves the trees and Arya serves the Many Faced God, Danni and Jon serve the Lord of Light. This means they may not be on the same side. I'm kind of leaning to wondering if Jaqen may be the Night's King in the books. We got a glimpse of how ancient Mel is without the magic. Though we don't know weather Jaqen is old or not we do know he has some kind of magic and is nobody, his name forbidden and lost like the Night's King is nobody, because his name was forbidden and lost. His main goal is to provide his god with lives by killing or helping people to die. The Nights King provided them by sending them babies. All were told is that he was defeated not that he was killed. If his queen was taken hostage and perhaps kept in the Crypts of Winterfell say the ancient tombs that have had the entrance caved in for a very long time, it would explain why he'd accept being exiled instead of returning. Exile makes perfect sense if the Night's King was a brother to the King of Winter like Old Nan says to prevent kinslaying. Now to be clear I just wonder these things. They are not a theory that I'm set on, just what ifs.

Sweet honey mama ..you with the sweet Chris [my kisses to Riddick]..priceless..I think the Weirwoods are some kind of spiritual trees ..In the Ancient Greek mythology every tree has his spirit/pixie or his own god to protect it..The same with the Weirwood trees..They are ancient trees and the Old Gods living in them or protecting them..Also the Weirwood Trees reminds to me what the Native American Indians believe in their culture..The Native American Tribes they believe that the trees in their woods can talk to you and they believe that they are alive inside..they worship them as gods[totems] ...and they can told or saw to you your future..The same with the Weirwoods Trees ...Bran can connected with them and sees the future or get back to the past ....They are the internet of Westeros .....Bran,Arya,Jon,Sansa and Danny they had all greenseer/skinchange abilities ..but Bran in the show even more and Arya in the books ..Bran can warg to everything ..even and a dragon [in S8 he probably will warg into a dragon..in the Ice Dragon]..Arya can skinchange into Nymeria or into a cat...Jon dies and his spirit warged into Ghost..Danny has a spiritual connection with Drogon[he is the reincarnated spirit of Drogo in a dragons body]...Sansa warged into Ramsays dogs make them to eat him .Drogon and Ghost had both red eyes ..so that could means that both those magical creatures can be spiritual amplifiers and used by wargs or skinchangers ..Danny has the dragon dreams and Jon the wolf dreams and etc and this because of the magical pets they have on their own ..I think i would be cool that Bran VS NK battle of the magic powers/brains ..I think Bran will warg into Viserion and will fly [you will not walk ..but you will fly ..Bloodraven]..and will try to turn Viserion against him..or even Bran will warg into the NK and will posses him [be inside his body]so he to go cray cray and to kill himself ..lol..Brans warging /greensight abilities are more powerful in the show ..than the books..

I don't think anybody can see the future. Bran hasn't been seeing any and he not only would be the one with the power, but also the urgent need. It would also add a bunch of plot holes, without a bunch of extra writing to explain it. Almost all the things foretold in visions have already happened.

Could the NK in the show have once been like Bloodraven? Helping the children in the weirwoods right before BR got lost ranging beyond the wall. Then they used and turned him into NK. Because leaf is only a couple hundred years old. So that particular NK wasn't made that long ago.... #freeghost #protostark

Just thinking: could Bran simply overpower the Night King in season 8? Meaning there is magic built into winterfell which could possibly enhance brans ability, there will be dragons there as well which is another magical element that could possibly enhance brans ability, the crypts of winterfell are also magically mysterious to say the least but could possibly enhance brans ability, as well as Mellisandra & the godswood that bran is sitting by ???
