There's a bit more to one of those reviews that criticized the control scheme in Alien Resurrection. It's already funny to look back on in hindsight knowing it has become the standard for FPS controls, but the reviewer also said people should just pass on Resurrection and wait for Aliens Colonial Marines (mind you it was originally scheduled for a 2001 release on PS2). Yeah that actually happened.

Fun fact: A hack dropped fairly recently that actually *does* add mouse support to the Super Famicom version of _Clock Tower._ It also adds the exclusive rooms from the PS1 port, but the fact that it works with the mouse is a definite selling port all by itself.

@Malakai222

A fun fact I learned from researching the Super Famicon Clock Tower recently: Yes the SNES version doesn't have mouse support, but not because they didn't want to! When Hifumi Kono pitched his idea for the game (a game where you run away from the threat instead of fight it), his peers told him it wouldn't work. Because they figured it wouldn't work they gave him a very small budget and team, and so they had to scrap mouse support and also had to make the mansion significantly smaller. So it makes sense that mouse support would come in the later ports. Figured you might enjoy that tidbit! (though there is a large chance you already knew)

The PlayStation mouse was actually also bundled with Transport Tycoon! It's pretty rare, but up until today the only way you can look at your Transport Tycoon cities in 3D.

10:46 good news eryone! presenting the Sinden Lightgun. After a successful crowdfunding project, the first backers are testing their guns and yes, it does work with both modern and CRT screens. And it has arcade quality with recoil.

I did not know this existed. Now if it was a gameboy extra add on, I had every single one. I cannot overstate the importance of THE WORM LIGHT for gameboy, because you could still use it on your GBA if you just twisted the little plugin around. The thing was so flexible that even though GBA's little cable port was opposite the GBC you could just twist your worm light around until it would fit and work for your gba

I have one of these and used it when playing Project Horned Owl, Lemmings 3D and Die Hard Trilogy. In that trilogy, Die Hard 3 even had support for a steering wheel which I think made it more fun to play and quite a bit easier too.

Ahhhh you tease us with that Vampire Night port on your desk. So many extras on that thing. It's such a stupid, dumb, glorious game and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love it.

I just want to start a campaign to get a PVM CRT for Derek because the fact that he has everything else on his desk, & not something as coosh as a Sony PVM 14L5 is the realest Greek tragedy that I can think of...

The analog comment - generally speaking analog mice do exist but in most cases mice work by triggering interrupts rapidly through a polling interval or a digital trigger, meaning they’re still digital albeit they usually trigger far more often than buttons which usually poll at 30-60 times a second, or on every frame render. If there is a polling interval, it’s usually on the mouse itself and this is often advertised as the DPI in some way.

Toonami came out in 97, horned owl was in 96, so it wasn't WAAAY before Toonami made anime popular, but it did predate it by half a year.

The LE of Tokimeki comes with not just a mouse, but a special mouse with a design of Shiori on it! The sequel has a pink Pocketstation. Hmm... I feel I've seen at least one other game with the mouse bundled with it...
