Coming from someone who owns every game boy driver and GTA games i can safely say the game boy driver's are much more impressive and enjoyable, not comparing them to the PSP gtas which are of course the most impressive handheld open world games.

The whole thing about carts and labels is why i simply prefer to get the games complete in the box, as they were meant to be, even if that can be a bit pricey, but you do you On top of that, you can get a set of custom made sticker labels for N64 carts

Absolutely do NOT bother with the MAT3 versions of Rush 2049. Actually, the N64 version is the original and the dreamcast version is the port. The N64 version is on par with the dreamcast version (assuming you have an expansion pak) except for resolution and frame rate, and the dreamcast version is missing exclusive songs and paintable cars!

Weird isn’t it though . Always online was such a big thing for everybody - and now if you own a ps5 or xbox , you need to have an online connection otherwise the games don’t work ?!!!! So they were right 🤷🏻‍♂️

You should have started with the translated N64 version as it has a super clear in-game tutorial which really helps everything make sense, specially for first time players… Otherwise you really don’t know what’s going on, as there are plenty of things you may be doing wrong without having any clue. I played plenty of versions during the years, and it wasn’t until I followed the tutorials on the translated N64 version that I really started to know what was going on exactly. A video as long and well researched as this should have included it (and not only that small bit without specific mention to such translated version!)

Thank you very much for this review :) Zeebo has a few interesting games, and the commercial intention of the console was not bad, but among the whole set I prefer Saber by Double Dragon, she is really great.

The fact people sell it so short and call it a "beefed up SNES" is criminal. The GBA has games that look like low resolution PlayStation games, the SNES couldn't do anything close to that, even with the SuperFX chip. The stronger consoles of the 4th generation couldn't do that, even with the SEGA CD and Neo Geo CD add-ons.

That's more just my bias because that's what it was to me when I first got mine. It had Link to the Past, the sequel to Super Metroid, Final Fight One, so many SNES-era RPGs, even a few master system and NES ports/remakes. From a pure hardware standpoint, it is selling it short. But from just my experience at the time, the GBA was having most of my SNES library on the go.

I don't mind the midi quality songs. I'm more annoyed by how much I'm listening to the same depthless songs for so many hours. As a person who still hasn't finished the game - but has completed 4 other DQ games, I bought Dragon Quext XI a second time on PC, just to get the version with orchestrated music because I heard it was so good. Unfortunately, I found myself switching back to the synth versions. Why? Because hearing the same short song over and over is less annoying when it's not performed by a full orchestra with a deliberate intention of being as dynamic as possible. "No comparison, right?" I'm likely in the minority, but I have a large appreciation for how balanced the synth or midi versions of the songs sound, especially while listening in the intended way. A concert playing all of my favorite music would be great. But making that epic live orchestration a piece of background music quickly becomes exhausting. My point? The synth versions of these songs are much more palatable if you have to listen to them over and over as you're playing the game. Don't get me wrong, the orchestrated versions are phenomenal and would hit the spot in something like the rare boss fight. Now I'm genuinely curious. Have you spent a dozen or more hours playing the game while listening to the orchestrated version of the world exploration song, frequently hearing it interrupted by the orchestrated battle song? I'm glad the 'Definitive Edition' provides the option to hear the synth versions of the music. But even then, it's the same thing over and over and over. Regardless, I think you summed it up well towards the end. The music tracks in Dragon Quest XI often for the most part suck or are yet another new version of a nice melody we've known for decades. Sounds like the composer was quite the terd we all accidentally step in sometimes and then struggle to get off of our shoe.

Fantastic video and a lovely tribute to my favorite game composer. Small correction: Follin also scored Prime on the Sega CD while he was at Malibu. Another game where the soundtrack is the most memorable part about it.

The Wii port is what finally got me to appreciate Gunblade NY and if you like that kind of game, look up Assault Chaingun SKM on Switch as it's a decent clone with 4-player support. Anyway the arcade game of both of those was cursed. Stole my money every time and I had a miserable day afterwards. The Wii port not only let me play the game and still have a good day, but I could turn down the sound effects and crank the music and WOW! The soundtracks sounds exactly like Virtual On! But what's more the instruction book revealed something: The rails aren't on rails. The path the chopper takes changes depending on who and what you shoot because the enemies actually react dynamically to your shots! This is also why Gunblade NY is a bit better as it has more room for freedom while LA Machineguns is a lot more on-rails than its predecessor. You want replay value? Score Attack Mode. The order of the stages changes depending on how well you do in the previous stage which DRASTICALLY improves replay value. I'd question calling EDF 2017 "bad", but Gunblade NY is outright great! And yeah those were budget ports and the only home ports the games got. ALSO! I LOVE that they replaced the Coke ads with ads for Sonic and the Black Knight in-game. This is funny because I think the game takes place in 1999 or something? So it would be like 7 years before Sonic and the Black Knight would come out from when the game takes place!

So...watching the Zeebo emulate NeoGeo just fine reveals its greatest flaw: No KOF?! MAN! If the Zeebo had KOF98 and 2002 on it, THAT would have...been a game people liked! Especially in Brazil! Zeebo needed SNK so badly!

I think its a fatal flawed design to make a collecthathon and prevent us from completing a level because you want us to learn a power from future levels. The goal is to go into a level and collect everything and they take that away from us. Banjo Kazooie allowed us to get everything in one go outside of 1 jiggy in freezeezy peak. That’s how you make a collecthathon ! The backtracking works much better in the hub world since you’re constantly going through it, creating shortcuts and triggering main collectibles
