Same thing here! I'm 29 too and love these videos. I actually like anything about the whole process - from dating to marriage. I think all single people should watch them because there is so much to learn, improve and even heal before getting into a relationship.

47 years married for me. Definitely ups and downs! 🙃 It would be nice if our parishes had a program like the pre-marriage program, only for people who have been married awhile. Long-married, happy couples could teach it...sort of to prepare us for married life after kids, retirement, aging, etc. Love you and your videos. ❤

Been together 49 yrs married 45 . I agree my honey and I went to a marriage encounter about 30 yrs ago it was so Amazing . In msgr from our parish wanted us to be in charge of “ precana” classes for pre wedding couples . As soon as an older couple gives it up . I was so honored to be asked . But your right after kids are gone retirement sets in what now ???? 🌻🌻🌻

Almost 35 years here. I think it comes down to saving your best manners for your spouse. Thank them for what they do, compliment them, show others how lucky you are to have them at your side. Now, have I always done this? Nope. I’m not perfect…..

Heather, I wanted to let you know how much of a blessing you've been to me. I'm not usually one to comment on KZbin videos, but I came across your channel this spring when I started my RCIA journey. You've helped me learn so much about Catholic theology. I'm on track to receive my first communion in about a month. God bless you 🙏🏻

One of the pieces of advice my husband and I were given by the person who married us was "Be a champion for each other." That was truly inspired as my husband and I are from two different backgrounds as well as cultures (including countries). It's very much like the advice being a cheerleader, but it's also about defending one another especially when others criticize your spouse, don't understand them, and so on.

To all moms and dads who have lost a child!! Our children, who died far too early, in the womb or later, are at our side and fight for us together with the heavenly army. The Vatican needs a lot of fighters these days. Let us ask our little children together with her angels, that they stand with the Holy Father and all the bishops during this SYNOD , pray for them and fight for the truth and our church. May each of our children adopt a bishop and may a heavenly army defend our Church in Rome. Please share this.

Hi Heather It's the first time that I'm writing to you. I hope my english will be well because I'm french ! I just love your channel and I really want to thank you for all you are sharing to us. Here in France, it's hard to find a catholic mom channel. I'm converted since 3 years. I met my husband at church, the same day that the Lord delivered me from an illness that I had since 10 years. My husband was first my best friend, he is the one that teached me about faith as I knew nothing ! We married on April 2023, the day before the Mercy Sunday and I'm now pregnant of our first child. I really want to thank you because you really help me to improve my relationship with the Lord and to become a mother. I want also to thank you about what you share especially in this video because even though I'm not married since a long time, your advices are precious. My husband, since the beginning, says this : "The more we are caring first about us as a couple, the more all that we can have will go well" May our dear Lord bless you and our Mother Mary be with you

This Christmas it will be for my husband and I 25 years. Our whole relationship changed when our children left home. Its was kinda traumatic for us both in different ways. We found that we were alot different together after they left. We are also much older so our personality is drastically different. Now starting premenstrual/ menopause we are finding it to be very difficult to travel this new way of living. We started counciling based on the book man of my dreams woman of his a christ centered marriage Its been very helpful. But it's been drastically different today in our relationship vrs just a few years ago. My husband and I are completely opposite too. But using our individual strengths to add to eachother is good. But 45 it's tough. We only had two children who were only a year apart so that also plays a part. If we had more children maybe the transition wouldn't have been so drastic.

When children leaves home it is traumatic nearly for every parents. It's been called "empty nest syndrome" It will last for a while. We were very young parents of two so when they left we still had our jobs. My husband played golf and still does and I took up painting when my menopause started. Best thing for depression. I never had interest in painting but I still continue and I am amazed with my progress. We are also two different individuals but thanks to our religious life we understand and love each other. I can imagine how hard time it is for you but you will be fine after some time.

Yes, very well put. If women and men both thought this way so many marriages would be thriving! We default to this is the norm everyone marriage is just blah, not everyone. There are some working thriving marriages. Everyone take part and do what they need to do, men emotional connection hand holding and listen, women physical intimacy and less criticizing!

My friend recommended a book called "The Surrendered Wife". I thought I was already submissive and respectful but there is still room for improvement!! I recommended anyone who thinks their husband is like another child read it. Actually, everyone should read it! It might be a bit triggering to start with but it is worth an experiment at least!! I also recommend the film "War Room". All about praying for your spouse (for the husband in this movie). Also a bit cheesy but very inspirational.

It's so funny! You should mention that movie because couple weekends ago he was going through you too and he watched it. I was very surprised. It had Kirk Cameron in it and just so everybody knows Kirk Cameron would not kiss the actress in the movie. So at the end that's his wife wearing a wig. I thought that was very sweet of him
