I am a total beginner and I watched a lot of KZbin videos before I found The Secret Yarnery. Christa does a great job of explaining it. I started with a granny square then decided to make this blanket. I used Mungo yarn from Portugal which is 50% cotton and 50% wool. It worked beautifully and they have great colors. They didn’t have pink so I used lavender. The blanket is far from perfect but I know where I messed up. It still looks beautiful. Thank you for teaching me!

Hi Christa…..I love this blanket, especially with the border. I used your pattern sometime ago, plus the Tipsy, Sober & Dirty. I do like putting borders on my blankets, but have trouble if there is no Pattern. I really like the look of the solid colour in this Drunken one. Love all your patterns, but find I can mostly do only the blankets or scarves, and granny squares., as they are bigger projects, and not so fiddley I love your Yarnery. It’s so nice you give us tours…….love them, you are such a hard worker, don’t know where you find the time for all you do. Take good care, and would love more blankets with borders! LOL❤

Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern, I made this baby blanked today with crochet hooks size 7mm/6mm and it turned out sooo cute! I made 32 rows in total and had some color changes. I couldn't make the border as I did not have enough yarn left. It was made soo easy and fast, that's soo awesome! I used yarn from drops Paris (7x 50g in total) and started with 75 chain stitches instead of 105. This stitch was so fun to make, it's beginner friendly and also very quick to make if you need a last minute present 😊

Hiii! Thank you so much, I just finished this blanket as my first crochet project ever. Pregnant with my first and have made a neutral coloured blanket with a yellow border as we decided not to find out the gender! I used a wool/acrylic yarn for the blanket and a cotton yarn for the border and am thinking the border needs to be thicker. Am I able to go around the border one more time in the gaps like we did on the blanket?

Hi Christa, could you put stitch markers every 5th stitch in the chain? Thinking it would help with the spacing in the next row. As some beginners may have trouble counting the stitches. Thank you for your great work.

Hi, Jennifer Fryer!! You can try shrinking down the loop on your hook before you start that dc, and keep your tension up while you start it. Hope that helps! Thank you! 🌻🌺🌼

Hi Christa…love the blanket! I’m curious as to why you use a larger hook for the chain?
@traceysimpson2019 Жыл бұрын
Some people use a larger hook to help with the curling caused by tension issues, or it could be to accommodate the 5 double crochets into each chain.
@SecretYarnery Жыл бұрын
Thank you, Tracey Simpson - great answer! Yesd Peggy - just so the starting chain isn't too tight. Thanks! 🌈🌼🌸

Whatever I I’d I have little loops opposite each other after row 2 / kind of like a row of circles ovals. 🙈😜 please advise. This is my second attempt based on a train of 120 plus 4 but this is hours at this point
