how is 'crocheting over your tail' asking for extra work@@sarahnoble74 ..?? l ALWAYS crochet over my tails so l don't have to stop to sew in/cut off all that extra yarn..so far none of MY work has come apart with that method..the way that this person does it is just calling for EXTRA work..if you want to sew in ends the work partially over tail leaving enough to then sew backwards..

So glad I found this video. I'm working a 1970s hat pattern and after first round it said to tie off and change colors. I'm guessing they didn't use the magic knot back then. Love your color choice, love how you join and then slip st with both strands and great idea to sew in ends as you go. I made granny squares about 34 yrs. ago, had many many made, never got to put them together lost them all in a house fire. Picked up crocheting again about a year ago, have yet to make a granny square yet. After watching you I think I'm ready to try again.. want to make a circle blanket too, can't wait for your video. I made a kids skirt a couple of weeks ago by following my 1st pattern. I'm so pr out of it. It was so simply written anyone who knows the basics could follow it. Love videos who have the written pattern in the link so I have sight and the pattern. It has helped me with following that pattern. Someone puts a chart in corner of s green. So I've learned a few things that way too. My goal is to be able to make things by following patterns. Sorry so long😁

I had been searching and watching tons of granny square tutorials and none of them made any sense until now. Thanks to you and your amazing tutorial I was able to complete a 21 row granny square. I used six different neon colored yarns. This is the best video on KZbin hands down. I tried a crochet class once and I learned nothing, I have been trying YT crochet videos for Three days and all still nothing just a mess and confusing, then I found you, I finally made the little center bit!!! I like your video because you explain it simply and clearly and you show how its supposed to look as you go along so I can see where I should be kinda pulling it into shape which really helped. Hi Christa, I'm following the Beginner Series and this popped up, needless to say I watched this in absolute Awe. I've just made a Granny Square Scrap Blanket and I was sort if following a Granny Square in a New Book in the UK, it showed that you joined your New Yarn in a Side Stitch and NOT the Corners. Because i was making a Scrap Blanket I just knotted my ends together so it didn't matter where the joins were, because of this i wasn't turning in a corner so i didn't know where to finish it. Fortunately its turned out quite well. I actually really love it. Next time I will definitely be following your instructions. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. Happy Crotcheting. I much prefer to change colors a different way. Before you pull the last loop through on your last stitch, put the new color on your hook & pull that through & that's the beginning of your next stitch or chain in the new color set to go. Just a different choice.

Do you then tie those together then weave? This video is how I have been doing color change but your way is how I have done it for other kinds of projects.
