I've watched COUNTLESS videos on how to crochet a simple granny square for absolute beginners who have never held a crochet hook and I just could not for the life of me grasp the concept. I kept seeing comments under their videos saying that it was the video that clicked for them and they could finally do it but it just wasn't happening for me. It was so bloody frustrating. In saying that, after watching your video I can FINALLY say that I actually DID IT!!! This was that video for me. I couldn't thank you enough! I'm a new mum to a 10 month old baby and have been looking for something to do in my spare time to keep my hands and mind busy and away from my phone. Granted I've watched this video at least 28 times - not even all the way through as I haven't actually finished my granny square but it's coming along SO BEAUTIFULLY and I've gotten to the stage where I can do it without watching the video 😍 I can't wait to crochet more things!! I have watched numerous tutorials on how to make basic granny squares. I have tried so many and just got so frustrated because they were going to fast or they used odd yard that made it hard to see what hole they are looping. I literally made my first granny square FIRST attempt with your tutorial. I can't say thank you enough. I am making each one of my kids these for Christmas and wanted to start now while I'm off for summer vacation and have time off from teaching. I have done herington stich and love it. So now I can finally add granny squares too my crochet. I was so excited I video called hubby and couple friends who crochet showing them my first granny square..and it actually turned out really well. I’ve really started learning how to crotchet and I’ve been wanting to make granny squares with the smaller rolls of yarn I have. This is by far one of the easiest tutorials. I managed to make it perfectly! P.S. for those struggling to understand what’s happening or feel it may be too fast, change the speed so it’s slower. I had to do that the first time I made it and it helped a lot:)

Oh my word For years now I have hated granny squares because they were always so floppy and after several rounds they tilt big time.
