Honestly ... I have to give this a thumbs down for a simple reason: the ONLY thing you ever jump to is "kill X" that you dont like. *_Whoever is without sin may throw the first rock_* ... some old book, I guess. That line from Malfoy to Dumbledore always breaks my heart. Malfoy was top of his grade besides Hermione. He was so smart and loved learning and being a wizard. Then his dad forced him into becoming a Death Eater to make up for his own failings and it ruined Draco’s life. He didn’t want to kill Dumbledore at all. And that’s why he told him what he did. He wanted Dumbledore to know he was TRYING to be good but his options had just run out.

This is false. Read the book and stop making stuffs up. Draco was a racist and prejudiced pos from the get go. Contrary to what the movies show, his father never bullied or forced anything on him. He adored him and Draco definitely embraced the pure blood ideology and hatred for muggle borns.

Voldemort never expected Draco to be able to k!II Dumbledore. He gave the boy a task he believed Draco couldn’t accomplish as punishment for Lucius’s failures. It was Lucius who was entrusted with the diary Horcrux & he used it in his plot to open the Chamber of Secrets which resulted in it being destroyed. Then he failed to retrieve the prophecy & was arrested & put in Azkaban. Voldemort was furious & decided to punish the Malfoys by giving their son an impossible task then telling them that he would k!LL the boy if he failed. He also forbade them to tell anyone of the plan so they had to suffer in silence believing they would soon lose their only child. Thinking that Draco would fail Voldemort then confided in Snape with the understanding that Snape would do it once Draco failed. That’s why Snape knew of the plan & was willing to make the Unbreakable Vow with Draco’s mother, Narcissa. One very important thing that most reactors miss is that young Tom Riddle asked Slughorn about splitting his SOUL into 7 pieces. One part of the soul has to remain in his body so he planned on creating 6 Horcruxes. Dumbledore explained it in the book. He tells Harry “Six Horcruxes, Harry. Six. The final piece of his soul must remain in his body”. He also tells Harry that all of the Horcruxes must be destroyed before attacking Voldemort himself. If Voldemort’s body dies but there’s still a Horcrux he can use it to return. That’s what happened when he attacked Harry as a baby. The curse rebounded because of Lily’s sacrifice & hit Voldemort, who’s body was destroyed. The piece of the mutilated soul that was in it fled to the forests of Albania, where Quirrell encountered him & bought him back to Britain. It was that piece of soul that Peter Pettigrew used to resurrect Voldemort in the Goblet of Fire. I’m so looking forward to seeing your reactions to the last two movies & I hope you will read the books or listen to the audiobooks. The story of Harry Potter is so rich & complex that most had to be left out of the movies so it’s definitely worth it to check out the books. I’ve never known anyone to say they regretted it.

The Bloods analogy is funnily on point because as Ive grown older Ive started to see the conflict in Harry Potter is a lot like a gang war, a multi-generational blood feud between different families cliqued up in color coded factions (Gryffindor and Slytherin). In this movie specifically you have a scene straight out of a ran down inner city school, with Harry and Draco essentially having a shootout in the bathroom.

I'm watching the re-upload and dude, what you said about Draco is spot on. Draco is a product of his upbringing his environment. It's true Draco didn't want to kill Dumbledore but he knew he had to or else Voldemort would kill him. Bellatrix she's a real piece of work! This kinda was a suicide mission for Draco because his father failed to get the prophesy. At least in the films u see Draco struggling at the end, that he doesnt want to be a deatheater but also wants to be with his family. I know a lot of people are annoyed by Bella but honestly she is funny af haha. I love her as villain (also love the actress so am a bit biased), yes I hate her and wanted her gone but idk love the craziness.

Dumbledore can apparate inside hogwarts grounds. So he could’ve gotten away if he wanted. He chose to die to spark the rebellion - much more noble.

the movies did ginny’s character dirty, in the books she is WAYY cooler and her and harry actually have chemistry. personally the half-blood prince is my favorite harry potter book, because we actually see some development in Draco’s character, instead of being the typical one-dimensional bully he is actually really interesting in this, they managed to make me feel really sad for him! also this book has such interesting details which im shocked did not made it into the movie, like the story of Tom Riddle’s mother and an actual explanation for the half-blood prince (its literally in the title????? and we get 0 information on it). Basically, this is my favorite hp movie because of the main story but the biggest disappointment because the book was 100x better
