Teleporting enemies is the bane of modern FPS games. I'm so tired of today's FPS/TPS titles making enemies spawn out of thin air. It ruins immersion and completely takes me out of the game. It makes the world feel like an arcade simulation and nothing about it feels weighty or purposeful. It's like "Oh, you took out all these zombies/demons? Here are some more!" and they just magically teleport out of thin air. To CoD's credit (the older ones at least), they made sure most of their enemies came from spawn closets. Yes infinite spawn closets are ridiculous but it sure makes the world feel a lot more grounded than enemies literally spawning out of thin air.
