Thank you for your query. Organisations operating lawfully in the UK can apply for a sponsorship licence to sponsor migrant workers. One of the requirements on sponsor licence holders is to appoint members of existing staff as ‘key personnel’, who will be responsible for certain compliance duties related to managing the organisation’s licence. Yes - A four month old trading business can apply for a sponsor licence. However, if you have been operating or trading in the UK for less than 18 months on the date you make your application, the checks the Home Office will make are different to those carried out on more established businesses.
