I'd love to get these heads but I can't find them available for purchase anywhere online! Zurn's website is absolutely no help at all.

I called Zurn. They recommend their Zurn heads for Zurn Pex-B pipe used with expansion fittings. Zurn confirmed their heads work with the Milwaukee M12 and M18 Pex expansion tools

@@ZurnIndustries OK to use DeWalt expansion heads with Zurn pipe?

I always suspected PEX B was expandable. I also expected the pressure-up time to be much longer, but 45 minutes is a long time for a professional to wait before pressurizing the repair on install after the last expansion.
@titusdaniel Жыл бұрын
Coming in too late to make any difference here, but all PEX B is not expandable. Zurn's pex is basically pex b, but it's special because it can be used with expansion tools or crimps. Most pex b isn't expandable.

So only zurn Pex B can be expansion? What's the difference between zurn Pex B and other brand pex B?
@mohawkmike14210 ай бұрын
Funny in 2 years no one has answered your question. (I've asked it myself). I've used Uponor A with the original Milwaukee expansion tool and I don't have leaks. I first installed it in my own home and it's been fine. The burst pressure of B is higher but both are well above what any home is going to see so it's a non factor. A is better with ice.. I think Zurn just jumped on the bandwagon because without admitting it they know Uponor A is a better. Tons of it in high end commercial applications....good enough for me.

These are available for purchase through any of our Zurn PEX distributors. You can use our Distributor Locator tool on our website to locate one near you: www.zurn.com/distributor-locator. Even if they don’t have it in stock, many of them can order it for you. Additionally, you can contact a rep in your area to call on distributors. @@ZurnIndustries Your tool expands B pex better than the Uponor heads expands A? is that what you are saying? B is NOT better than A and the letter designation is not the reason. Go kink some B and then get a heat gun out to restore . A has a tighter bend radius . Uncoil both and tell me which one straightens better. Then tell all the Viega lovers here why Zurn went to expanding connections. Milwaukee likes their labels covered during you "cooperative" effort? Doubt that.

@@mohawkmike142 I've worked with both and actually find pex A a lot easier to kink. I like the fact that with pex b it's more Ridgid, you can straighten it out and makes feeding it through holes/tight spaces much easier than A. Been putting in pex B for over 10 years and haven't had a single leak.
