Ahead of Republic Day, security beefed up in Manipur’s Imphal on Jan 23 to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations. This year, India will celebrate its 75th Republic Day on 26 January 2024. Republic Day is celebrated every year on January 26 and marks the adoption of the Constitution of India, which came into effect on this day in 1950.
The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
