Nowadays, cops get no respect, and rightly so. I make $100k + a year and home every night ,off weekends, without the headaches and without violating anyone's rights, or anyone hating me.

Which is why most armed security don't attempt to perform a citizen arrest. I got a family member who does armed security. They are not supposed to engage unless extreme circumstances. Which is mostly self defense and protecting people on the property.

In the State of Florida, an armed security officer must possess a G License as well their original D License. A “G” License is pretty much a 28 hour course and pass a very simple written test. They also must fire the weapon at a local gun range for about an hour and be somewhat accurate. Getting a security job with any security company is very easy and simple. If you are able to walk in their door, you are hired. Security pay in Florida is horrible. You can literally work at any fast food store and make more money starting out than armed security officers. A lot of these armed security officers have some “power “ issues resulting in the “SWAT TEAM” type gear they wear and display. Usually referred to as Cop Want a be’s. They have absolutely No Police powers i.e. arrest, handcuffs, batons, chemical agents etc. Most companies will not allow this type of get up however; there are some smaller firms that just don’t care or pay attention. If a security officer ever lays hands on you first and it is not defensive, it is Battery. He can be arrested. Know your rights . Security licenses in Florida are managed and controlled by: State of Florida Department of Agriculture Division of Licensing Tallahassee, FL 32399 1-800-435-7352

The 911 call receivers need to be educated on the law so that they can tell the caller that operating a camera in public is lawful

It seems like these dispatchers need to be educated too. Its also alot with the callers fabricating a story to the the cops there faster. These people need to be charged for filing a false report and things might change
