Thanks for the video, just installed it on my Sport Glide, it works, but I wouldn't want to do it again. The folks at Harley told me it's all no problem, plug and play :) but without your video, I wouldn't have found the cable ;) thanks :)

Really pleased to hear the video was of some use but I totally agree, it's not a job I would want to do again. If I change my bike I may consider paying for HD to fit it for me. As it seems too much trouble for them to fit it in the first place

@@My_bike_and_me Yeah, you're right. I think it's cheeky of Harley Davidson to sell bikes for 20,000/30,000 and even more expensive, and then leave it up to the customer to deal with the siren, instead of just selling the bike for 100 euros more like they used to 😉

Thanks for this video, just fitted mine following step by step. Without this I’d have been in trouble no doubt. Fiddly job. Know exactly what you mean now! I had to reset an engine management light (coded for loss of power which I googled how to reset elsewhere) but all good now. Thanks again 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Awesome video, thank you so much. I bought the Sport Glide on Saturday and then killed the battery trying to get it in to chirp mode. Only to find out HD have removed the chirp and it was going to cost me £80 for a new one. Just one extra tip for any one reading this before carrying out the procedure, Just take the cover off the other side of the bike, turn the bike on to deactivate the alarm, then remove the main 40Amp fuse. This makes wiring in the battery less sparky and dangerous. Also it will stop the alarm sounding, if like me you’re a bit uncoordinated when putting the negative terminal back on. Then make sure that you turn the bike back off again before reinserting the fuse. I hope this helps

I thought about doing that. If I need to follow a youtube tutorial, and it takes me an hour, surely since they know what they are doing, should be much faster. But they just quoted me 1h and a half. that's crazy. how much were you quoted?

Hi, It's not so much difficult but awkward and fiddly as you are fighting in a very tight dark space. Really glad I did it but not a job to look forward to in all honesty. Just blows my mind why it isn't a stock install🤷🏻‍♂️

Nice one, i had a 2018 sport glide that came with the full alarm/siren, just traded up to a low rider s and was annoyed to discover that Harley had stopped fitting the siren, how stupid can they get, to factory fit that could only be a few minutes job, so it really is penny pinching to not fit this. crazy people. great video, and i will now do it myself for my new bike.

Thats a really great question but I just followed the instructions that came with the unit. Didn't think to look for another way to be honest although if I had known before hand what a pain it was I may well have given that a little thought👍

@@Jar8_biker No, just followed the manual. I heard that HD dealer garages installs that alarm very quickly 15 minutes ish - that was my thought how they can install that fast.

Thanks for the video, I've fitted the siren to my 2022 breakout, and alarm works great but now i cant start the bike. power turns on but wont crank over. any idea how to fix the problem ? Cheers Gary

Hi, Further to my comment 2 weeks ago, Today i have been doing this on a 2022 low rider S, not amused, i think the battery must be bigger as i certainly couldnt get my hands on it to pull it out. there is also a plastic wedge near the positive terminal to hold it in place, and then i might just have been unlucky, but the rear brake pipe was also in the way of getting it out. well it took an hour to get the battery out, then my back needed a rest, and it has just taken a second hour to actually get the siren fitted, and my back has had enough for today, but its in so just need to put it all back together again in the morning. i need a big light like you had, i was working with a torch in my mouth. just thought i would share this with your fans, like you said, it very fiddly but stick with it an most people can do this. but at 68 my back can only last an hour at a time🤣🤣

🤣🤣I know exactly how you feel. Im 70 and felt 90 by the time I had finished. Not a pleasant job but think how much Harley would have charged you. Although maybe it would be worth it. Crack open a couple of cold ones

Hey up, the purple plug you plugged into the siren, did you get it out of the dead P plug. I'd put a picture on but cannot see how. At 12:27 on ya video, has torks shiney bolt next it.

Hi, yes the purple plug is found in a dummy socket. not sure if that's the p plug you mention

Harley are taking the piss. I just bought a Breakout. Got to pay £200+ for a spare key/fob, and £100 + labour to have the sounder fitted to the SILENT security system. Optional extras to have a spare key and an alarm that makes a noise??!!

I have no idea Mr G but not cheap, it was a good few hours work. Everything was in place but Harley's just didn't fit the actual siren. Harley tax 😡

@@My_bike_and_me Strange isn’t it.Also I think with me it’s the fact that when I was younger I didn’t have the money to have things fixed/fitted by professionals so had to “have a go” myself,so the patience and will to learn was there.Nowadays things seem more complicated and are not as easy for the diy mechanic,so it is just less stressful to let the experts do it!(luckily I now have the funds to pay for them).👍🏼

@@mrgoodkat3722 Yep me too, I had to resolve any issue on the car as no money when young but today other than cleaning it and topping up the screen wash. I get a man who can
