They’re so open about stabbing a cop while a suspected cop is right in front of them? What has happened to the UK? It’s incredible how weak the police force has become. Great stories by the way 👍

As someone that volunteered for a large charity, I'm never going to give money to a charity. I give directly to people that need it The amount of money thats wasted and embezzled is insane
@terrorbilly13 ай бұрын
Oh man, I love when charities come knocking on my door! I usually tell them that I pay already. When they look through their system confused as to why there's none of my details there, I then add: "have you heard of taxes?"
@CLaw-tb5gg4 ай бұрын
I used to work for a charity and I've never donated to charity since. To be blunt they're like any other company existing to make money for everyone working for them, with a sort of vague excuse that some money might get given to a good cause at some point. I could never work out what the charity I worked for (which I won't name, but everyone has heard of it) even actually did in practice to help anyone.. but I do know that management got very healthy paycheques.
@CLaw-tb5gg4 ай бұрын
Also on a related topic, I've developed a pretty bleak view on giving money to homeless people as my other half works with them. The whole "needing X amount of money to get into a shelter" thing is complete bollocks; that's not how it works at all. Shelters are paid for by housing benefit, and residents need to stump up a nominal amount of cash, £50 or so, once a month as a sort of token thing to demonstrate responsibility - but they can get massively in arrears (like a year) before anyone cares. If someone is on the street all they need to do is phone a street team and they will get a bed gratis, and if they're in a big city there are always plenty of beds available. The reason people beg for money is for drugs, plain and simple. I completely appreciate that these people are in a sorry state and when you've got a combination of mental health problems and drug problems it's a deep dark hole to try and pull yourself out of, but by giving money to them you are not helping them. If I get pestered by one I just ask them if they want me to ring a street team for them and they just keep going money, money, money, which tells you all you need to know. And that's not even getting into the fact that a hell of a lot of beggars aren't "true" homeless people at all but are members of professional begging gangs.

@@Alpha_blossom not if I'm on a proper site of course but if you do customer service especially in winter people will often be thankful for having their heating or warm water fixed. People in the expensive homes would be more likely to have standing orders on their bank accounts automatically donating to charities every month rather than giving one off donations to someone knocking on their door. Rich people basically pay for everything, including the council estates all this happened at.
