I am born and raised on Oahu listening monthly to the testing of the emergency siren system. The excuse for these not being activated is preposterous. They are for ANY type of emergency, not just tsunamis and they can be heard throughout the islands not just the coastlines. This fire started before 11pm on the 7th, more than 12 hours before the flames engulfed Lahaina on the evening of the 8th. People were still getting out in the late afternoon on the 8th. If the sirens had been activated people would have gone outside their homes and businesses early on the 8th to assess what the emergency was and been able to evacuate. They would not have “run to higher ground into the fire”. Hundreds of lives would have been saved.

Doesn't sound like sirens were needed then from what you're saying, they could have done SMS & tv alerts to evacuate instead of risking the tsunami panic. In Australia, we are warned in advance of high fire danger days & told we must evacuate the night before, or at dawn if we intend on evacuating. Once the fire reaches critical, we are taught VERY clearly NOT to evacuate, because it is simply not safe to do so with the intensity of the types of fires we get. Maui was on par with the worst firestorms we get in Australia, it was nothing like the fires seen in places like California that many are comparing it to, people in those fires drove through the fire to evacuate, there was clearly no potential to do that in Maui & survive. Only evacuation option was early morning, BEFORE the fire presented a danger! If you're at the point of needing sirens, the sirens should be telling people to stay put & fight the fire there, because it's WAY too late to be evacuating if you're using sirens! When our fires turn bad, sms's are sent to everyone saying "it is now too late to evacuate, follow your bushfire plan for this scenario" Website likewise says the same, but in the hours leading up to that & even at that point, it will have information for different areas saying what the advice is for each. No-one can anticipate surviving if they try to evacuate during a fire emergency like this!

@@AncientRe I agree with you. I don't think people understand what the intensity of this fire was. On the water mismanagement though, not sure what you're talking about there, but if you mean the hydrants running out of water, that cannot be stopped either in events like this. Australian response to that is anyone with a pool ties a ribbon around their letterbox, so that firefighters know where to find water sources when the water goes down. Hydrant systems just cannot possibly cope with the amount of water fire fighters will be attempting to draw from it in fighting fires like this. I really hope that all of the US, not just Hawaii learn from this fire & do start early evacuations if there's potential for a fire starting on a bad weather day. Sadly I think it's unlikely the whole US will learn, but I'm hopeful at least Hawaii will, but the cost is still WAY too high, so many lives lost 😢 They also could have evacuated by water couldn't they, if there wasn't time to evacuate everyone via road if acting early enough? We did that in 2020, using amphibious vehicles to transport trapped residents to a troop carrier navy ship docked off shore & then once everyone was safe onboard, they moved the ship to an area clear of the fire, with an evacuation centre ready to go. I feel like the navy should have been more ready to act in Maui, to be picking up residents in the water at least!

No, the people of Hawaii who were warned for years that a wild fire could occur and did nothing, are to blame. It’s not the biggest or even close to the deadliest fire this country has had in recent years. What makes the whole situation worse is the ignorance of the laser 🤡s. That lack of education and basic common sense is what caused this. Oh but the burn lines were perfect and saved the rich houses? Spend a little time on a farm during burn season. Ever heard of a irrigation system? Do you think they pump salt water from the ocean to grow their grass? FYI, wet grass doesn’t burn. Ohh maybe it was Kentucky BLUE grass so the lasers wouldn’t burn it. LMAO

The sirens they use in Hawaii are giant voice speakers meaning that they are electrical loudspeakers so technically they could’ve used the voice feature to announce a page to the entire island for an evacuation. It is also known that these specific sirens have different tones that play for different emergencies. I am just pointing it out there that not only could they have activate these sirens, they could’ve used the loudspeaker system to inform residents. I remember countless news articles saying “sirens are irrelevant now and phone notifications are the new norm” well, where the heck were the phone notifications and why the actual hell did they not activate these sirens

If there was ever a fire that was sweeping through my neighborhood and it was being spread by wind like it was there and i heard a siren I would be freaked out that there was a tornado too and run into my basement and be guranteed to die. If they played a different tone I wouldn't even notice. I think they use those specific tones because they carry further out too.

With modern technology, emergency text notification alerts should have been sent to residents as soon as these fires started as power companies knew power drops occurred and possible fires and evacuation orders were imminent. So sad to see this happening in Hawaii. My heart goes out to these people in Maui. I’ve been in a fire evacuation situation before. It’s absolutely terrifying to know a fire is approaching your home. They should have been notified by emergency services much earlier. I’m sure that’s why the emergency response team leader resigned. They dropped the ball on alerting the people. What’s the point of having emergency alert sirens if you don’t use them??

I remember the outrageous lie put forth about the alert sirens not being sounded. They actually have stated that they figured that, upon hearing the alarms, the residents would rush TOWARDS the fires!!! OK - if that had been the case, here's another question. Why were the police blocking inhabitants from escaping the oncoming fire? Did they assume that the residents WANTED to stay in the path of the flames??? Lie upon lie upon lie. Yeah and the blocking the only road in/out was weird too, like forcing people to drive back into the flames or jump into the ocean. And the boats on the ocean were on fire too (how??) so people couldn’t even flee on them. It’s seems purposefully done… Hmm what’s the bet that land prices in this area become super cheap as everyone wants to sell after this, so it gets bought up by some mega company…
@kentclark6420

As for the fires, I don't have all the facts, but were the roads actually physically blocked by police, or were they blocked by fallen trees, etc? Certain buildings and homes that survived the fires could have just been better built and fireproofed. Or like in earthquakes- certain homes can be untouched, while those right next to them destroyed. No logical reason. And those cars that burned in a clearing, while nearby homes were intact, could have been burned by flying embers and went out before reaching the homes. The guy that resigned from the emergency alert board or whatever said protocols didn't cover fires. Sounds more like government ineptitude than a conspiracy. Plus, the fires could have started near town by fallen wires, in which case, with those winds would have given little time for a warning. As for Maui not accepting or allowing aid to come in, I saw a video of cars from nearby areas lined up to give donations in Lahaina a few days after the fire. And officials in disaster scenes don't normally like many outside helpers coming into the area because it can interfere with cleanup and restoration.

@@i..am..You conspiracy nuts have really gone off the deep end. Show me melted car engines, lol What you saw is conspiracist nuts finding molten aluminum intakes and such. I have a small home built forge; I can start a small fire in it and I’m not melting anything but plastic. I turn on the small blower, about the size of a blow dryer, and in minutes I have 3/4” steel stock to bright orange. Aluminum / glass would melt in no time. Forced air exponentially increases the heat of a fire. They had drought conditions with 70 mph winds. It’s going to turn cars into Roman candles. Cars are full of gasoline, oil, brake fluid, rubber, plastic, etc. That type of fire will melt AL easily. These conspiracies are generally started by ppl with little to no real life experience. Someone who’s never worked around a metal shop / forge isn’t going to know the effect a forced air supply has on a fire. But that doesn’t stop them from coming up with that nonsense.

Strange that power lines would run through such a heavily wooded area without proper dead space or right of way around them... I see no sign or evidence in this video of any high-voltage lines running through that area. The trees there are too small and not tall enough to put power lines that are typically 60ft in the air at risk. Also, fire crews are negligent in the initial blaze allowing it to restart. I must admit I am cautious and skeptical of all these wildfires as I have seen photographs of large aircraft with laser apertures at the tail facing downward to focus the beam and start just such fires. A Missouri you tuber that predicts earthquakes uses several analytical tools and about 3 years ago he was using some kind of infrared image and wildfires had broken out in the area he was surveying. So as he was looking at the infrared images he was curious as beams of light were clearly visible for a few seconds before fires broke out, the beams were clearly some sort of high-powered laser. This is a world where we can't trust anything we see or hear on TV. There are some very nefarious people in high places that will stop at nothing to further their goal of one world government and absolute control of the world's populace. In any event ABC I am skeptical of your attempt to shape this narrative without further proof. Companies like Raytheon openly admit they have developed at least 4 different laser weapons for use by the US Air Force.

THIS WAS MANMADE. There was a car that was burned from the inside out. The grass around it was perfectly fine. The houses were perfectly fine. The only thing that could burn something from the inside out is something like a microwave. So the only logical explanation is a energy powered weapon. It’s proven that if you put a car over a bonfire the inside (like the engine) would be perfectly fine because there’s not enough oxygen in the hood. This is very suspicious and I already know the truth will never come out. Because the police are definitely involved because survivors said police were blocking them from getting out of Lahaina. Yeah, the BlackRock-owned power company purposefully DID NOT properly keep the brush and trees cut back from the power lines, and then rather than turning the power off like they usually do when there's a high wind advisory, they left it on, and then they turned the water OFF so there was no way to fight the fires. This all because the residents refused to sell their property to BlackRock and Vanguard.

There really were multiple HOURS of opportunity to sound the sirens, shut off the power, and/or begin recommending (then mandating) evacuation. At the very least, our most vulnerable -- kūpuna (elders), houseless population, etc. could have been warned. They werenʻt even given a chance to try. I was born & raised in Hawaiʻi -- grew up hearing the sirens every first of the month and hearing all about "emergency hurricane plans" and the like. We trusted these systems, and we trusted our government officials (at least when it comes to impending disasters). Every second of this was a failed opportunity to act -- those in charge must go. They do not deserve to represent the people, let alone claim to be on our side.

I still think something is very fishy with this whole thing. Funny how realtors and investors knew EXACTLY which homes were destroyed and WHO owned them to call them and offer to buy their land the SAME DAY of the fire. It takes a truly heartless, evil person to call someone who's just lost everything and possibly family members and pets to call and try to buy their land. When a "Hot" line hits the ground the electricity will always try to return to the source so it can blow a fuse ,trip a circuit breaker or other protective device . If this occurs in areas with large rock formations in the soil this can impede the ability of the electrical current to return to the source and trip the device shutting off the power . Under this situation the hot powerline will arc and spark on the ground but not shut down . The Hawiian islands are basically made out of volcanic lava aren't they?

Yeah, I mean who would expect a car with gallons of gasoline to burn better than a tree that is like 50% water. How about you go and cut a branch off a living tree and try to set fire to it. Come back when you've tried that and let us know how it went.

They would also be very detectable by all sorts of electronics, which would be getting circuitry fried well in advance of actually burning. You'd also need a huge amount of power so where do you think any sort of energy weapon could have been fired from?

That's not a fire stared by a downed power line because you would still be able to see a consistent blue/white glow of electricity radiating from the power line. It seems as though the fire was started from up above, like some sort of weapon

That’s what I thought. But that would be a tin foil hat conspiracy theory. A downed power line ignited the grass, vaporized people, houses, melted vehicles, burned boats to the water line in the water off the beach, left trees, and there’s over 1000 people missing (now down to “hundreds”)…?

I live in the Panhandle of Texas and I can tell you wind can do so much damage alone then add fire and it's this a disaster. Weve had grass fires that started from sparks from trains going down the track. And here the wind is 95% of the time blowing and it can be furious too up to 70 or 80 mph anytime year round. It was inevitable that this fire got out of control with the winds blowing.

@@kathleenjanuszewski2499bro you live in your own reality. The hurricane eye was less than 700 miles away but it was being guided by pressure fronts which stretch thousands of miles. That’s why they can predict weather because you can see the pressure zones. Wind patterns also follow these fronts and can easily precede the hurricanes by hundreds of miles

This is a man made fire. Not downed power lines. The rich want that land. They were talking about acquiring the land months before the fire. It’s man made. That’s not a power line coming down. That is a directed energy weapons systems shooting a hot laser into the trees so they can buy all the land at a discount while also getting all the residents out. This was calculated. The residents said the power, the water and the phone lines were turned off hours before the fire even started. They said fire fighters never came and the water was never turned back on. There was a few people who still had some water left in their holding tanks but then it ran out quickly.
