I did not know I wanted one of these until now.... I believe you put the shells with the primer pointing downwards that way you can pull them down and rapidly enter them in the loading port. Take care Mike!!

I have just recently (as in TODAY) managed to acquire one of these and I can confirm the cartridge door on the bottom does in fact flip open after a few shots, so it’s not just Mike having a faulty one. I have tried to press mine shut hard to stop it opening, but either I’m too weak or mine just can’t do it with a shell in.

At least for real-steel, there are different reasons to load the shells in different ways in the saddle. Usefulness can change with your handedness and how you hold the shotgun for loading, so it really comes down to personal preference. That said, it makes next to no difference for airsoft because the manuals of arms for a spring shotgun replica and a real shotgun have some significant differences. For righties (since I am one, these I've used): The way you have them ('brass' up) can be useful for "combat loading" a real-steel shotgun. When the magazine tube is empty, and you have just ejected your last round, you grab the shell with your right hand, chuck it into the ejection port, grab the grip and slam the forend forward. this gives you a loaded chamber very quickly. The other way (brass down) can be useful for normal reloads while keeping the gun at ready or low ready. Using your left hand you push down one (or two, or three if you have monster hands that can manage it) with the heel of your hand and thumb from above, and then grab them from the bottom in the same pass. You push one up through the loading gate and ram it home with your thumb while holding any extras cupped in your fingers or palm, then repeat loading until your hand is empty, then go back to the saddle till it's empty or the magazine is full. It is possible to combat load with the left hand, some people find it easier. From a saddle, you do basically the same actions as loading through the gate, but instead of placing the round in the gate, you cup it with your fingers against the ejection-port-side of the gun and wrap your fingers against the gun to push the shell into the ejection port. When it goes in, you slam the forend forward and then commence loading through the gate, unless you need to use that round. If you flip your shotgun over to load, brass down also works, except you're pulling the rounds up. I personally prefer brass down, and generally, load with the loading gate up. I qualify to use a shotgun for work but given my choice, I'd switch to a pistol before reloading a shotgun. For lefties, combat loading from underneath with the left hand will probably be kind of awkward (at least it is for me and my dexter-wired brain, dunno about any of you sinister-wired people) but just pulling it off the top and dropping it in the ejection port with the gun rotated 45-90 degrees left shouldn't be much of a stretch. Brass down would probably be just as useful for normal loading with the right hand. Pop one or two loose into your palm, put it through the gate and ram home, then repeat.

The shells go either way but people put them lipped end at the top because some carriers are loose and that keeps them from falling out when moving

If the back of the shell is face up you have to reach above, pull up then drop hand back down and slide shell in. Back of shell face down you pull shell down and slide shell in in basically one motion. It’s just a little faster.

I believe that “ferrum” in Roman Latin also means “sword”. Roman legionaries actually had a weapon called that. The more commonly known weapons used are “pilum” (the spear) and “gladius” (short stabbing sword)

So a little bit of background with the shell saddle. It depends on your preference but typically the shell orientation matters entirely on your training and practice. The shells are set there as an emergency load solution. Instead of reaching down to a belt or your chest and load up the tube, you would open the bolt (cock it back) either pulling from the top to push it into the ejector port, or pull from the bottom for quicker mag tube loading.

With my cam-870 I load the shells in the rack upside down so when you quad load off your belt, you can pull one out and slam it in the breach real quick fot 8+1 reloads. When duel or quad loading you keep your hand on the pump and place the stock on your shoulder with the loading port facing away from you and grab 2 or 4 shells with your trigger hand. Faster way to load but with this, don't matter

I have this KTW Spas12 custom that can also fire two BBs at the same time from one barrel. Never seen the point, decreases the engagement distance but the 2nd BB is right behind the first one, no spread at all.

Can you use a Kar 98 springer bolt on a gas airsoft (for example g&g springer bolt on the gas base gun; both shell ejecting)? I wanna use the springer at home or on a range so i dont have to waste gas but i dont know if the springer bolts from dboys and g&g are compatible with the gas shell ejecting version...

Can someone help me, why is the single FPS 433, because it is often advertised to be 280. 280 is field legal for me, but 433 is too far strong, so is it alright for me if my limit is 365?

Maybe because you use a single bb, that's why it shoot 433Fps. If it's 3 bbs then maybe it can shoot 280Fps. I don't own this airsoft gun, this is just my speculation only.

Nice!.. Looking pump action. I have the cyma full metal shotgun works well affordable fun for CQB. You can get a polymer pumper cheap £30.full metal £90. Adds up though with shells if you want more and a sling. I like that shotgun though it's a bit more tactical than a cyma. 👌😎

In shells in the side saddle, in airaoft its preferance tho brass down aids in strong hand reloads, in real steal its often done to denote between ammo types IE buck and slugs

Could you do maybe a followup video on the melee weapons with someone of the organisation of the field you most often go to and someone that works with uk's airsofting regulations via video call and ask them what types of melee weapons are best and what the laws are on melee usage for the uk since these are plastic or rubber that you show there but there is also foam melee weapons like the nerf axe used by the famed bob the axe man hildebrand. You can do the video in every way you like.

I can answer that for you. Nope! That is not the style or theme of this channel. You need to go to a different channel that does videos like that. Also there is a reason why Airsoft Mike only briefly showed them at the end. KZbin are getting more and more restrictive with airsoft channels. I am a moderator on this channel and have seen first hand how videos get demonetized and removed from KZbin's recommended videos algorithm if weapons, fake or real, including fake "melee" weapons are seen to be promoted "too much" or even mentioned too many times in a video. Add to that, the fact that this channel's biggest audience by far, is the USA not the UK.
