What a fantastic vlog today, not just the auction tour which I loved but as a retired mental health nurse, well done Richard for raising the ‘it’s good to talk and connect’ message … so important. 😊

Very interesting tour especially a conducted tour via the Daughter of the creator of the Sedgemoore Market, and that chap with the yellow hoody on what a darn good idea that is and the Health Room a very topical point is the Prostate Check after the announcement that King Charles has had Prostate Treatment (which I think was the right thing to allow it to be published).👍

Brilliant video, what a lovely guide you had, its people who treat you like that, that make you feel that you are not taking them away from anything else, that spending time with you is something they are enjoying, that help bring people back time and time again to their buisness.

Good morning, Richard, that was a very enjoyable video farming is a very stresful business hard on the body and the mind. It was great to see the market, it was a nice place well kept.

Hi Richard, great video and interesting chat with the lady who set up the market , interesting that her father also set up Puxton park which is a good day out with the family.I must take a trip up to sedgemoor as I’ve never been that would be an interesting day out our local market is Holsworthy.regarding Harry and sheep I would suggest something like Welsh black mountain as they are easy to keep and will lamb mostly on their own if you want to go straight into more commercial sheep then go for some north country mules the lambs are worth more but there’s a lot more work in keeping them either way encourage Harry and get him started with his farming journey.👍

A great part 1 & 2 video , I used to love to go to Taunton and Salisbury and some times Newbury live stock market sadly things change etc and close dawn ,but i do miss all the chatter and market stalls. I do think with the arrival of the internet was when people stopped getting together and talking as alot of things are all sold and bought on line now so people don’t get together as much …. Crack on!!!

Hi Richard what great video you looked in your element there ,back in the 1980s i worked on a large estate with with two farms all us farm workers met up at 1.00 lunchtime for 5,10 minutes just to have a quick chat it made the day go quickly and we all had a good laugh or a moune about things i miss my time working on the william strip estate sadly most of my colleagues are dead now i have retired and live abroad keep safe and healthy best wishes roy denmark .

Great video Richard. Great to see the market is thriving and has brilliant contacts for farmers in need 👍

I am convinced that the demise of the local livestock markets hasn't helped farmer's mental health, as they could moan and put the world to rights, possibly with people they first met at Young Farmers Club. When I retired I really missed the banter of the crewroom, didn't miss the alarm going off at 04:45.

Thank you for the video, unfortunately there's no such thing for help where I live, anything such as mental health is strictly to boo here, they'll make fun of you instead of helping you, I'm guessing no one going to read this comment.

Fantastic Video! I applaud you for raising awareness about the real risk to mental and physical health in farming. The health room at the market is such a wonderful idea. That Market has so many great services. It was interesting to see the way the animals are auctioned off. 1000 Young Farmers! So glad to hear that the program is strong. Cheers 👍👍👍😊

markets like sedgemoor are what keep livestock buyer - dealers . semi honest ,without markets you would have to take what the prosessor decsided they are going to pay for an animal they have already slauthered.

your right a cattle market isn't just some where to sell your animals it's also a chance to socialise , personally i like a farm sale but unfortunately a lot of farm sales are online these days which has taken the socialising part away from it
