The Electra has become Buffalo’s winter workhorse - the one plane they need to keep flying. During a High Arctic delivery mission, a 5,000-pound power unit tips off the forklift and crashes to the ground, smashing the fuselage - and sending Mikey into crisis management mode. With no backup Electras, Joe races to Atlantic Airways in Coventry, England on an urgent mission to scoop one up from other potential buyers. Back at Buffalo, Mikey tries to prove he’s really management material.

Gotta love how things work there. Those mechanics work their ass off replacing that engine and patching up the plane and daddy's boy gets all the credit.

I enjoyed winter ops out of Adak back during the cold war, always flying in any weather chasing Russian sub's!

I’d like to know what they ultimately determined the problem was with the #2 engine, after it was off the plane and they had a chance to inspect it without any time constraints.

None of those people know how to safely operate fa forklift. Lift the item a little, then tilt it back. Then move the forklift backwards.

The person operating that wheel loader didn’t have any business being in that tractor loading cargo into an airplane.

I refuse to believe the forklift operator didn't do that on purpose. There's just no way.

Too much front load and the hydraulics couldn't handle it. Should have never tilted it down. I know some of those drivers in Cambridge bay aren't the best and they have a bad habit of not listening.

Bitter cold isn’t that bad. A slight breeze can make it so intense it’s scary. The snow squeaks when you walk on it. Your eyelashes freeze together sometimes if you get a bit watery eyed. The first few breaths when you go outside can almost leave you breathless. DO NOT TOUCH BARE METAL (like wrenching on equipment) with bare hands or receive instant frostbite. We have used tape on frostbite to stop it from freezing again the same day,as long as its not serious. Gawd forbid if you have to #2 it on a snow bank, almost better to chance a accident and wait till yer indoors. Cheap winter clothes crackle and break. Eyeglasses are a bitch, they like to frost up every time you go indoors and the want to freeze yer nose where it touch’s yer nose. Cheap boots turn to blocks of wood leaving you slipping and sliding,as the rubber hardens so much. The air seems to magnify the stars and it can be breathtaking some nites, especially with northern lights. Some full moons with snow you can see perfectly at nite, no flashlight needed, hell there is shadows. Gloves are a bad idea, mittens are the warmest. DO NOT FUCK AROUND OUTSIDE WHEN YOU ARE DRUNK, YOU CAN DIE. Do not over exert and sweat, you will then freeze. Be prepared when travelling, shit happens, have you winter gear, not running shoes and sweat pants only. Learn how to make a fire in any circumstance. Enjoy!

I live in Texas but have been to northern part of North Dakota right next to Canada. We’ve seen -10 in Texas but very rarely however in North Dakota I’ve been in -52 and got to experience the 3rd worst blizzard in their recorded history to that point. The cold in Texas bites very quickly because of the humidity in the air. My first trip to North Dakota the lowest temp at night was -38 and when I got out of the truck I was thinking this really isn’t bad at all. Within 10 minutes I was changing my mind because it was definitely cold. The reason it doesn’t bite as fast is because at those temperatures there’s no moisture in the air. I learned to respect the weather up there very quickly and had to purchase all new cold weather gear and learn to know when to travel and when not to. I was originally going to head back to Texas on the day of the Blizzard right before it hit but was given some advice by some locals and damn glad I listened. 3 days later when I finally started my way back stuck/buried cars littered the roads for miles upon miles.

Summary of this great show: A few incredible competent people are fighting incredible incompetence at all time to make things work. Incompetence and mishaps are incredibly over emphasized. It makes Buffalo look like a bunch of cats run by a bear. Still, love this show and Buffalo is quite amazing. Oh and "Ok" means we are screwed on this show.
