I live in Dana Point, CA and Miami Beach, FL and have e-bikes, from two different manufactures, at each location. Unfortunately, the one in Miami Beach was recently stolen. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it led me to the Electric Bike Company. I couldn't be happier with my new e-bike which arrived about two months ago. From customer service, to design and having it delivered FULLY ASSEMBLED to my home in Florida, EBC has far exceeded my expectations. I love my new e-bike. The quality of the bike is exceptional. Even if I can't sell the brand/e-bike I have in CA, I am going to replace it with an electric bike from EBC this summer.

Nearing 4,000 miles on my model Y with no problems! AND was able to have the same tech that built my bike change my brake pads when they got low. Awesome company!!

I bought one of the first EBC bikes in 2016. What a game changer and so much fun to ride. I live at the beach in Newport and my bike still doesn’t have any rust on it and it still runs as well as it does the day I got it. The workmanship and engineering is second to none. My wife and son also have EBC bikes and they love them. Not sure what all the fuss is about- the bikes are clearly made in Newport Beach, USA. I went to the factory, picked out the parts and watched them build my bike here in Newport Beach. Ford is an American company that sells American cars right? Yet they are built in several countries all over the world with parts sourced from everywhere. The microchips are made in Taiwan, upholstery in Mexico and plastics in China. EBC employs Americans and pays taxes in America. The company’s bikes cut down air pollution and traffic in America. This is an American company and they stand behind their product.

We can't think of any product with this many parts to it that doesn't get material or parts from somewhere globally. The longer-than-most warranty and the fact that you can literally talk to the person that built your bike are giant steps beyond anything you typically find and we think is just awesome.

Painted and assembled in the US from made in China parts. But this is about as made in the USA as you can find in the e bike market. Definitely an advantage to be assembled here and thoroughly tested before shipping. Great warranty but needs UL certification. Don’t see how they will be able to survive in a market where e bike prices are dropping rapidly and competition is so fierce but I hope they do.

They are actually working on UL certification now, which we are excited about. Also, just for the record - EBC does get parts from all over the world. I think it's a common misconception that all parts come from China. And we also hope they survive in a market where prices are dropping rapidly, but are pretty confident they will. They've been around over 10 years and have things pretty dialed in at their factory.

Don't you mean "assembled in the USA"?? Are the frames actually manufactured I. The USA or in China? The motors, brakes, cassettes, shifters, etc are all manufactured in China.

Michael, I already replied to another comment about this, but I guess we should have added a section speaking to what 'made in the USA' means. I think if we use your definition, then even most bikes made in China wouldn't be classified that way since so many parts also come from Taiwan, and then the raw materials come from all over the globe. The main point is that Electric Bike Company goes to crazy lengths to build/assemble their bikes here - which is very unique and allows them to customize their bikes in a way that we think is super cool. For clarification, Electric Bike Company sources parts from all over the world (last time we talked with Sean he mentioned something like 30 different countries).

Robert, I guess we should have said this in the video - but this was NOT a paid advertisement. Electric Bike Company didn't pay anything for us to go there and shoot this video. If the video comes off as an advertisement for Electric Bike Company, it's probably because we were honestly impressed by their factory. We've been reviewing products for over a decade and it is very cool to see a brand like this not moving their factory inland to save $$$, or shipping all assembly overseas to also save $$$. Sean's a super nice guy who knew every employees name that we saw, and I guess his passion rubbed off on us! Also, just a side note - this isn't a 'review' video in any way, just a tour of their factory. However, all our reviews are also independent and based on our testing. Please DM us if you'd like to have a deeper conversation about our reviews and provide us with feedback. To be honest, most of the parts you see on these expensive bikes, are really cheap. They might assemble these bikes in the US, but these claims of quality in combination with the cheap components they're using, this sounds not very good. The only things that are made in the US are some of these custom parts.

You might be selling the assembly part a bit short though. Doing that locally is what enables them to give better warranties. I don't think we've seen any other company go 5 years on the battery, with 10 on the motor and frame. Plus being able to call in and literally speak to the person who put your bike together if you have questions is kinda crazy when you think about the distance that exists with almost any product between purchaser and person that put it together.

Apparently if a company can add more than half the value to a product here, they can state that it's made here. As already stated, most of the parts are sourced overseas, probably China. I think that it's disingenuous for them to act like their bikes are made in the US, assembled maybe.

Bobby, we should have added a section to what 'made in the USA' means. However, given that Electric Bike Company sources their parts from around 30 countries (from what we can tell), and puts everything together in Newport Beach, CA I still stand behind the statement of 'made in the USA'. Car companies have done that for decades, and frankly it's impossible to build a bike 100% in a single country because parts are made all over the world - and if you want to really get granular, then you would have to dive into where all the materials come from and quickly realize that those also come from all over the world. The main point we tried to showcase is that Electric Bike Company has not shipped the 'building/assembly' of their bikes overseas. Yes, it costs them more, but that does give them the ability to control the process way more than one realizes and allows them to fully customize a customer's bike.
