Boy they sure had some great hits in '62! I love these songs. I remember our milk delivery, can't remember the brand, had some kind of sale going on. I think it was if you bought some icecream, you got a free record. It was the "Peppermint Twist"! Mom bought it so I could get the record!

I was born in 1952 so I remember all these songs, those years went by so fast, life was simpler, the music was happier, people were friendlier, now in 2024 its like living in the twilight zone, or outer limits, its nice to listen to these songs and reflect on how things once were, once upon a time in a galaxy far far away.

This is the year I was born - thanks! The year before, in 1961, a popular song was "Take Good Care of my Baby" by Bobby Vee. This was the song my biological mother always remembered me by after she gave me up for adoption at birth. When I finally met her nearly 40 years later, she told me that. 🥲

January 1962, I was all of 4 years old. The radio always played at home. These songs are remembered all too well. The deep tone, baritone note on "Good Luck Charm" especially tickled my childish laughter back when. And, now, the list of those hit songs make me see just how sassy in sophistication Connie Francis really was.

In January 1962 I was all of 6 years old -- WAY older than 4! Most of the 1962 hits I never heard (at home) or don't remember but it was still a sweet time. Hard to believe it was over 60 years ago (most post-2000 popular music either isn't music, is overproduced, or has no innocence or passion).

Johnny Angel is fun and nostalgic but it is followed by the amazing sound of Elvis at his best singing "Good Luck Charm.". His sound is not only brilliant but it is loaded with masculine charisma. Plus his musicians and backup singers are top notch. No wonder the girls swooned and screamed when he was on stage.

Nice of you to play the whole song. Just for fun. Why do all DJ’s play just the #1’s In a survey? I use to listen to CKLW out of Windsor Canada back in the 60’s. The Big 8 . I always thought that it would be interesting what song’s only got that high. Pick your stations number. Or just make one up. Bet you would be surprised .And probably some darn good stories.
