Some of it is better, a lot of it is shitty Animal House knock offs and goofy date-rape jokes. This movies is hilarious, not because of when it came out because it was far better than most of it's "peers" at the time. One of the many reasons I love this movie is it proves something I have always held true. Kevin Spacey is a DAMN good actor, but his true value to the silver screen isn't as a leading man. He's good enough to DO lead roles sure, but it's in supporting roles that he really gets the freedom to properly method act and he elevates the movies he's in as a result. If you want a cliche villain or a whimsical friend or a straight man to keep a movie sailing straight, Spacey's your man.

I always love the cop at the end after Pryor says fuck you to him. He tries to draw his pistol, when the other cop stops him and puts him in the back of a squad car while he says, l wanna shoot em. “I know the law, now l get to shoot them. We’ve been through all this and your telling me l can’t shoot them. I want to shoot them, l wanna shoot em. Why won’t you let me shoot them” The detective that does it is funny.

Funny film! Noticed one glitch tho, that used to bug me. When they escape from the police station, & are trying to escape down a back alley. Dave says to Wally 'there's a door right here. Wally there's an hole right here, put your fingers in the hole & pull' The door doesn't budge, so Dave walks off (facing away from Wally) Then Wally shouts DAVEEE, while Dave is still facing away from him. Dave then quickly turns around & says 'I'm right here Wally' How would he know he shouted his name?
