Hello! Let me take you to the beautiful mountains of Peru!
This is the 25th episode of see the world, following a ride from alaska to argentina and beyond. The video picks up after Huayhuash en route to Ausangate on fairly remote roads but never too far from the shepherds and the miners.

So several people have emailed me and more posted here. I just want to clear up that Shadow, the dog that went with me ran off to a village he must have recognized on the way back (we did a full circuit so it was also close to where he first started following me). He appears on multiple journals on the web where he followed hiking groups on the hike, sometimes leaving partway through the hike. Dogs are smart and know their way. That being said, I had decided that if he follows me away from the Ausangate trek, i would adopt him. He isnt the first dog that has followed me, normally I tell them to go back after few km and if not, i find them a ride back (like Morrocho from episode 20 in colombia). Beautiful video. I once rented a motorcycle in Cusco and rode for half a day in one direction, then half a day back. Looking into the distance, I wanted to return one day. I think I'll do it with a fat bike. RIP Iohan.

Every video I think....this was the absolute best video. Then I watch the next one and think the same and so on. Peru is one of my fav. places. (I'm into ancient history and archaeology and forestry (odd combo?) and of course ADVENTURE. NO ONE does adventure better than you lohan! I've had many adventures in my life, like age 16, just picked up and left home, hopped on a plane and flew from Tulsa Oklahoma to Fairbanks Alaska. NO PLAN, little $ and it all worked out fine and was THE BEST EVER!! Parents not to happy lol but they got over it and realized this, was gonna be the type of person I am. Just turned 50, and these days my adventures are on my cycle lol. Nothing compares to you and your "See The World" tho.....many blessings to you!!!

I watched this one and had a range of emotions. Of course, the living vicariously through Iohan and his travels, they are truely remarkable. I was feeling very judgemental of the environmental damage the mines are doing but then realised I'm sitting here watching these videos on my laptop made of the very metals and resources that places like this come from. I guess there is some sort of trade-off and although I'll probably never get to any of these places I can see them through these remarkable videos that Iohan puts together. Iohan, your videos inspire, provoke and amaze. Keep up the great "work".

Thank you! Shadow was spotted in 2019, still giving guides of Ausangate in exchange for food :) there are 4-5 guide dogs there!

First of all hats off!!! You are one brave... brave... brave... man for traveling alone in such weather conditions and terrible terrain (even though unbelievably beautiful).... !!! This is without doubt the most beautiful video of all the videos you have shot! Do you get scared while crossing such rivers(strong currents), where nobody is around to help you if something bad happens!!!??? Are you not scared about somebody harming you since you travel alone? I cannot even pretend or even think that I can do what you do even though I love to travel!!! Recently I tried to trek alone a mountain in Thailand, on a very foggy rainy day, in a trail of clay...! And that day I realized that I am not that brave...I was shit scared...but somehow managed to finish the trail and felt so PROUD, but told myself, "never again!!!" You are amazing...! What really puts these videos on my favorite list, besides the ridiculously beautiful cinematic work is the narration and voice overs you do. Your voice is just ridiculously soothing. You could 100% get a job as a voice-over artist or an audiobook narrator to make additional money to fund your trips.

Still curious that there is even a single dislike on this video. I didn't realize you covered the Ausengate by ending up about where you started. Pretty cool. The shadow looked like a great companion, and reminded me of the sweedish endurance team that adopted a dog while they were competing in South America. The dog adopted them, and the rest is history.
