Your house screams COZY! Don't feel nervous about your space!!!! It's yours and it's beautiful! Have you thought of creating a vision board for each room??
@ThriftDiving7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Great idea on the vision board. The way I usually work through this house is by doing 30-Day Room Makeovers with my readers. I'll take one room in the house along with my readers and I will tackle the room at that time. It's the only way I got done several of the rooms in my house. I usually do a "vision board" when it's time to do a room makeover. I don't function well with doing a little THIS and a little of THAT all over the house. I have to commit to focus on a room all at once in order to get anything done!

You get so much done with being a mom of 3 boys! Beautiful job especially the bathrooms and laundry! I did most of my home with DIY and recycled furniture while my kids were growing up. Our house was a safe place for a lot of kids and I was never worried about the furniture getting ruined! lol I see a loving home and happy family....the most important projects you could ever do.

I ABSOLUTELY love this video and your home. Sometimes blogs and videos can be a bit deceptive, even if not intentionally, because we shoot from sections of our spaces that give us the perfect composition. But no one sees the other side of the room. LOL . You are REAL and I love that. Your house is a WIP and you'll not get bored or lack for DIY projects. My home is from the 1960s, so I'm always doing things too, but when I start feeling overwhelmed, I make myself finish a space. Just channel my energies into that one room or one wall or whatever so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment. Have fun!

Your house so beautiful And your kitchen too My suggestion for the kitchen is don't change the capnets Change the color of them to white And change the handles for them Make the common colors of your kitchen white and blue Will be sunny and comfy even in the winter or the night The second suggestion change the whole house lightning from yellow to white light At night or winter will be more lightsome

Great tips! There is no way that hubby would let me change or paint the cabinets considering that we paid about $10K not that long ago to remove the old cabinets and replace them with these. I agree with you, though--I want white cabinets! I love light, bright spaces and the kitchen is a bit too "warm" tones for me, but I work with what I got. LOL. Oh--and the lighting--YES!! These yellow lights drive me crazy. I do like the yellow light in the family room, but in the bedrooms, it drives me crazy. Thanks for the reminder to change the bulbs! :)

I realise that this is an old video and that you may have resolved your dilemma over the kitchen units by now, but I thought I'd add my two pennyworth! My husband is just like yours - he doesn't like painting over wood. However, our kitchen units are light oak and I can live with that. Is there anyway you could put false fronts over the unit doors that won't damage the originals? If so, I would definitely paint them off-white. Also the lighting - I agree that warm-white bulbs would be so much more comfortable on the eye. Your bedroom is absolutely beautiful - the colours, the furniture, the light airy feeling, could you please come to the UK and decorate my bedroom?!! @@ThriftDiving

I watched your fireplace and shower makeover videos and thus recognized you when you came up on this most recent search--and thank you for sharing your imperfectly perfect home tour! With a bias of the mom of three grown sons, I LOVED the Lego storage makeover. But the most wonderful DIY of all---you didn't mention--your children observing their pro-active, can-do mom making their house a home, playing together at the computer desk--rolling along the sidelines while you videotape. After a lifetime, I am FINALLY redoing everyTHING, and enjoying it. But, the real MAGIC is the journey--where you are RightNow--with your boys watching, rolling, and growing. Thanks for sharing your wonderful progress. God bless you, your family, and your wonderful journey.

Your home is perfect; never say that it is bad or be upset about showing, this is a work in progress and will be until you move or decide this is it. I have an apartment for which the decor is revolving over and over and over again, it is a mess, but a loving mess. I love the changes and the colors and texture, just enjoy it also, you will feel so much better. You are an artist, your vision are shown in your upcycling of furniture, and home in general. You have the vision, just share and let us enjoy your ideas which we will make our own also. Thank you for all you do.

Love it! It is so welcoming. I didn’t see rooms not yet done. I saw rooms where function and fun take priority. Great job!

Omg! You have done so much. Love your ideas for remodeling the house... We've been sitting in our fixer upper for 5 yrs (w 5 and 3yr Olds) and have done nothing since we moved in (painted and cleaned house), but your house is so beautiful! And the Lego storage.. Genius!

You have a beautiful home. I remember growing up our house was filled with the things that my folks made: lamps, end tables, quilts, blankets, picture frames, and a million other things. I’m not very handy, but I'm trying to do the same with my house. You're building a home. Right now your kids are busy being kids but they are aware of your work. As they grow older they will look back fondly and may even decide they want to build a home like you have done. Again, you have a beautiful home.
