I used to say Nigeria has so many beautiful cities people are not really aware of, even more beautiful than Bonny island. Nigeria is so blessed. But unfortunately the media most times focused on the bad side of the country. I really appreciate these beautiful KZbinrs revealing the true picture of Nigeria to the world. God bless you sir! You can also tour around IITA in ibadan and lakowe golf estate in lagos. They are so beautiful.

As a Rivers (Ijaw) man, I have to speak to this for people to think smartly. Bonny is the source of LNG, a very promising natural resource. This is a secluded community *strictly for* people who work for NLNG. The good is that NLNG is Nigeria run and staffed. So this estate is for Nigerians mostly and I'm sure includes a number of Bonny people. HOWEVER, outside of this enclave, Bonny (which is responsible for this district) - is very old, dilapidated and lacking. So this district is NOT a win for Bonny. There are two south-south people in NLNG's management and Edmund Daukoru (Nembe) sits on the board, probably as Chair. Most others are Yoruba, Ibo and North. If the Ijaw people in company management, particularly a figure as important as Daukoru (former OPEC Chair) don't ensure that Bonny gets every bit as much as it gives, their conscious should never allow them or their children or their children's children to sleep.

My brother never forget that the company is called Nigeria LNG and not Rivers State LNG..(and that the company and its plant could have been sited anywhere along the Nigerian coastline where gas tankers can berth..)..and finally while you get into the details of the ethnic card please note that NLNG was conceptualized and started construction under General Sani Abacha (a Northern from Kano State).
@fistandpen2505
@fistandpen2505 Жыл бұрын
@@ekpo-itaattah7625 how does what you're saying make sense? If it can be sited anywhere else, then let it be sited somewhere else. It is sited where LNG is sourced, don't be daft my brother. At the same time, even with your logic, the issue is not that ijaw people should have it all, it is they should also participate. This is a very simple concept. Finally, if the credit is that Abacha came to ijaw land to build a system to siphon and not regard the citizens one kobo, then let them go and build it in North. We'll manage.
@ekpo-itaattah7625
@ekpo-itaattah7625 Жыл бұрын
@@fistandpen2505 not one single metric ton of the feed gas that is processed at the LNG Plant on Bonny Island comes from Bonny. For your information the Plant was sited on Bonny Island due to it access to the Atlantic ocean and ability of large vessel to berth at this peninsula point..I stand by my position that the Plant could have been sited anyway along the Nigerian coastline (as was planned with the Brass LNG Plant and has been executed with Dangote's Lekki Lagos refinery)..and lastly correct me if i am wrong but the indigenes of Bonny Island..the Ibani people do not even identify as being Ijaw so I also dont understand your own point aswell my brother.
