I once heard someone say that Americans love and/or condone War because their wars are never fought in their own land. Not once did I hear the interviers in studio discuss how the US treated the prisoners in dank crowded spaces with little to eat and how that that might've caused prisoners to have mental health issues and I really need clarity on the use of a man-sized net in the 'clinic'. I'm not condoning the actions of that caused them to be put in prison but living in artificial light, in a crowded space for years, no adequate food and being showered with water at random is not a good look for the "great" US. This looked almost clinical, built within a warehouse that had A/C. These are erector jails, jails you can build in a jiffy to house enemies, people who were captured trying to kill us soldiers or people that were captured who were making, i.e.d. bombs. You didn't end up in this jail for doing nothing. If you found yourself in this jail, it was for a good reason.

If the prisoners have been out of the prison since 2014, why is it being presented as if it being empty is part of the Taliban takeover? Why does the "prisoner's food" shown look like it is at most a few weeks old? The prisoners that Taliban took in all have a completely different story. Most of them praised Taliban for treating them with dignity. Some even converted to Islam. Like the British female journalist Yvonne Ridley. The Australian professor Timothy weeks. There's even a Guantanamo Bay prison gaurd who converted to Islam after seeing the way prisoners (mostly Taliban) interacted with him. Most people who are fortunate enough to actually see the real side of Taliban actually do praise them or even convert to Islam.

As a US Servicemember who actually worked at that detention facility? Detainees didn't experience any sort of struggle there. The conditions shown here are not representative of what they were when the US controlled the detention facility, a control that was eventually given to the Afghan government after 2015. We did not house "thousands" of prisoners at Camp Sabalu-Harrison, nor were they subjected to torture. The narrative being pushed here is exactly that, a narrative.

At least, the soldiers didn't cut hands for theft...kill for personal grievances ...beat and kill women. It was a war, these Afghan men were soldiers and knew what to expect.

@@tonybarden9187 The Taliban does not need cages for prisoners. Public beheadings are the way of life there. Who needs prisons when you have a sharp axe or heavy sword? You see cages and you assume torture. I see cages and I assume we weren't just beheading people. I'd bet neither of us have been there and really know what happened, but from what I've read, the Taliban are NOT good people. And while I do know that there are some bad Americans, in general, we ARE good people. Tony, which are you? Good or bad? I'll be generous here and assume you are a good person. Have a nice day.
