My best friend since childhood is from Syria both parents were doctors that owned their own practices. Moving to the United States their medical degrees were no longer recognized. So they had to go back to medical school in the US. Now both very successful and own their own practices here in the US now. My point is no matter how long it takes do what makes you happy!

Not really.... My dad Chinedu Mogebubuimpanzee is from Nigeria. In the nineteen eighties he fled the country where he was also a Colonel in the 1666664th Fighter wing flying Spitfires. He came to America but as a black man he couldn’t get a good job-despite going back to college. He ended up working at a nursing home in Texas where he changes adult diapers on old people and wipes spit from their mouth. Sometimes when he comes home, he drinks heavily. When drunk, he shakes with rage and rolls on the floor in total despair. He keeps saying “I am Chinedu, the son of Chief Maganugubambamobutu..How dare the Americans reduce me to the status of Chief Buttocks Wiper?!!!”

Most of the Afghan Air Force pilots didn't perish; many evacuated or were coerced into working with the Taliban, with some willingly doing so due to ethnic ties or past alliances. Reports suggest that the Taliban now have complete control and surveillance over the remaining pilots stranded in Afghanistan. These pilots have allegedly been threatened, along with their families, to comply with Taliban demands. Khial's observation is accurate: pilots were targeted before August 15th, butthe primary focus is the NDS officers and ANA special forces. On another note, the documentary on the Taliban's 2021 takeover fails to capture the gravity of the situation, itz just about the life changes experienced upon entering US soil as a migrant. Credit to Colonel Khial's American comrades for their concern and remembrance of him, contrasting with their government's approach.

One little misunderstanding you might end up facing the Taliban firing squad. You work with fear because you know you are not %100 safe, including your family. What about healthcare, proper education, freedom of speech, security? . The Talibans don't have rule of law, no functioning government, so they are the law and can harm you whenever they want, with no repercussions. Living in fear in your own country isn't a good experience.

It isn't very kind, to say the least, that this man who is a hero in my eyes ends up repairing trolleys in an assembly plant. He should be given a job in the US Air Force.

This pilot is lucky to have escaped safely with his family. The Biden Administration did a messy withdrawal leaving behind local Afghanis who fought and sacrificed alongside their American counterparts without any contingencies. It's sad many were martyred when Taliban came into power.😢😢😢

I get that they wanted to make a dramatic story of struggle for youtube, but this is really old news. The guy already got his FAA pilot certificate and is flying 767s for a US company.

Those who are saying Taliban did not kill any pilot must be a lie. These barbarians would not spare anyone who has killed one of their own. Obviously this pilot served in battlefield and had his apprehensions and did leave Afghanistan and moved to the USA. But what makes me sad is that USA, after using Afghani military professionals like in this pilot, could not take care of them. There must be a program for Afg veterans in the USA which should allow them to transit into the American job market easily. This pilot went to the same schools for flying as any other USA military pilot does and there must be some relaxation. As a Pakistani, I am sad that we had some part to play in takeover of Taliban and our country will be paying price of this huge mistake for years to come. Lastly, best of luck Shinwari. Hope you do good.

The Taliban have 2 Antonov transports, maybe 4 or 5 working helicopters and absolutely no spare parts or manufacturer support. The Afghan air force flew the majority of its aircraft out the country. There's probably only a couple actual pilots left.
