It would be creepy waking up in the middle of the night and see someone outside looking in

I like the house owners . They speak so warmly about their home, rather than just talk about the size and " wow " and the superficial qualities . They have truly enjoyed their home and that's what good architecture aims act. :)
@paulbond47628 жыл бұрын
its only fine for them as no neighbors around..
@springflower13365 жыл бұрын
it is definitely a beautiful house, would be great to have the option for a smart glass, where with a click on a remote button for privacy in an instant.
@CoastalKite8 жыл бұрын
Absolutely stunning. I've seen similar glass concepts in Japan, but all of them are modern. Its the American vintage charm that really makes this place cozy.

all my sims house are see through glasseslike this, you know when you need sunlight cause lights block your view and don't care about privacy
@val-schaeffer11178 жыл бұрын
So you basically have a glass house on top of an elevated platform, there are no immediate neighbours and the area is surrounded by trees. Additionally you have normal, walled basement.

Hmm, why?
@zzaaggaa8 жыл бұрын
You Tube Not really. I think that stickers would be enough if someone would like to avoid crashing in to glass :)
@JAchica118 жыл бұрын
Nice but I would not feel secure there. I also love the feeling of being private and secluded.
@FirdausZahari8 жыл бұрын
I also lived in glass house. I like the openness feeling of it and yes you still have privacy by pulling the thick curtain. The best part of it that your house is blend through the surrounding area while watch it change throughout the year. It was like a living wallpaper.

Definitely a beautiful house; located in Olympia Fields, Illinois. I have been in this neighborhood for over a decade, tons of Mid Century Homes around. This was my favorite for so long, until it was purchase and painted all black.

Absolutely GORGEOUS but WOW.......living there would be a huge challenge for any average American who grew up in a standard house with solid exterior walls. That'd take TONS of guts to try & adapt to that. And while the change of seasons, sunrises & sunsets would be fabulous, even with two highly efficient new furnaces living in that house during a dangerously cold midwest winter would be another huge challenge. Single pain windows, no matter how thick are right next to worthless when it comes to holding heat or cold in during the winter & summer. Beautiful, nonetheless.

I had the pleasure of taking my clients to view this stunning glass house a few years ago. Mid-century modern is my absolute favorite home design. They didn't purchase it but we all were impressed! They purchased a different mid-century modern home in the area.
@mrvk394 жыл бұрын
I think it would look even better during summer - that wall of green surrounding you would be so calming. But, during winters, I wonder how bad insulation is.. bet it's freezing inside and the heating bill is terrible. These look to be original windows, not the highly efficient ones they have now.

Id install electric frosting - the glass is frosted unti you send an electric current through it to clear it up. That way you can chose if you want walls or windows

Having grown up in a glass house, I completely understand looking over outside to see where the sound was coming from or the seasons. When looking for a home for my family, I look for the home with a treehouse or glass house effect. Having grown up in it, I never missed the privacy. In fact, I have my blinds open on all my windows in my homes....which does seem weird to others....but I wouldn't have it any other way!
@venusadonis93836 жыл бұрын
Questions: 1. How do you keep the glass windows clean all the time? 2. What are the security measures taken for the house made of glass walls?

This is a more livable version of Philip Johnson's Glass House in New Canaan CT. The similarities have to be intentional. Gorgeous house. It must be stunning in person (the Johnson Glass House is).
