Hi everyone thanks for watching our Top 10 Beaches list. We know everyone prioritizes different things when planning a beach day, so while you may not agree with our top beaches, there is likely a beach perfect for you on this list. Which beach would be at the top of your list and why? Let us know in the comments! If you are interested in seeing more of each of these beaches on this list, be sure to check out our Tampa Bay Area beach guides here: kzbin.info/aero/PLOT_jgQ5dAKyXGhzGvQW_7NfW1cJ7zBfW

Jamie and Skylar, this is my favorite video to date! I am sitting here in cold middle Tennessee this morning having already watched this video three times, Florida dreaming! What you did so well was to compare each of the beaches to the others with regard to desires of what one is looking for, whether an exciting bar/restaurant scene or a quiet secluded wonderland. You gave excellent reasons why each beach might appeal to who. Keep the vids coming, guys, I know it is a lot of work but you both have so much to offer. I see 100k subs in your future! On another note, I have a suggestion which I think might appeal to your audience: how about a video on how y'all got to Florida, what kind of work you each do beyond KZbin and what your hopes and dreams are for the future. I think your viewers might like to get to know y'all better which would help connect and encourage more subs. Thank you for a fantastic beach video on the mid west coast of Florida! Bravo! Rhonda

Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice comment, Rhonda. We wanted this video to be different (and hopefully better) from the other "Top Beaches" videos. By recognizing that different people have different preferences when it comes to beaches, we really hope that the video helps people make their own decision on their top beach instead of just telling them what ours is! We love the suggestion Rhonda, and we've been thinking about making a video like you mentioned for some time. We were actually going to do it at 5k views, but we hit that milestone while we were on vacation and just haven't found the time to make the video yet. But it will definitely be coming sooner or later, and your suggestion will encourage us to get it made sooner!

I’ve been watching your videos about h SW Florida as I am on vacations here with my family and let me share something funny that happened…my 8 years old daughter Olivia have been watching with me and today she stopped by to watch with me again and she said “yeah, Explorcation” …I did not understand why she said that, but she kept saying and asking….is this Explorcation, dad?! Then I realized I did not remember your channel name but noticed she did and was mentioning it to me….thanks for your tips! I am in St Pete and have decisions to make tomorrow, deciding what beaches should I visit. 😉

4 years ago, we stayed just 6 homes down a street from Pass-A-Grille beach in a VRBO. We became friends with the owner, Demetrius, who also owned 2 other homes there, and he bought them to supplement his retirement. He kept them up so well, as these were all original 1930’s small homes around 900sq ft. About 2.5 years ago he let us know that St.Pete had changed the zoning laws and no longer let the Pass-A-Grille community rent or sublet, as anything like VRBO be allowed any longer. This council decision totally ruined his retirement income plans, as he had to sell all 3 properties. Such a shame, as it was driven by big city investors in a way to enable them to eat up the properties. I speculate within 10 more years as the existing property owners die off and/or others to sell, Pass-A-Grille will change forever from a quaint old FL community to spoiled resorts and only a matter of time when the Don Caesar gets bought out and levelled. Give it 20 years and it will all be a memory; so experience Pass-A-Grille while you still can, as old FL appeal…..and fight the change by lobbying as you can!
@Explorcation
@Explorcation 3 ай бұрын
We sure hope your prediction is wrong, as we love Pass-A-Grille just the way it is, but sadly it wouldn't surprise us if it does end up that way. People who rely on that short term rental income to make a living should definitely be grandfathered in when the city decides to make zoning changes like that.

We are blessed to be surrounded by some of the most incredible beaches within a short distance here in Pinellas county. I'm a Florida native, born in St. Petersburg, I spent my youth at the Thunderbird in Treasure Island, we moved to Seminole where I frequented IRB, Redington Shores & Clearwater Beach in my teens and I later went on to get married and settle down in Palm Harbor where I'm raising a family of my own on the beaches of Honeymoon Island and Fred Howard Park. I recently enjoyed beautiful Siesta Key Beach. But RED TIDES have become much more common in the Gulf in SW Florida. During my December visit, it was red flag (swimming not advised as you can get a rash), and even walking on the beach, my eyes watered, my throat felt restricted (some were even wearing masks), and there were dead fish every five feet or so. Since 2017, there was a 15 month period of red tides, unlike the old days with only one or two weeks during the year.
@Explorcation

Yeah, red tide is a real issue, and unfortunately it really can ruin a beach vacation. We hope this is not the new normal and that it will eventually go back to only a week or two per year. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Chad.

I've never really been to the beach. I've never really been to Florida. I've been to Orlando with high school concert band but we didn't go anywhere or do anything. I'm thinking about moving to Florida. I feel like it's something I really want to do. After my lease is up at the house I live in. I'm going to pack everything in the van. Me and my dog are going to head down there from Ohio and try and make a life for ourselves there. I have a couple questions. I noticed you pointed out there were dog beaches. Most beaches do not allow dogs? I think this is the case, if so. Do most beaches have a specific area where dogs are allowed? How common is it? few and far in-between? Are there places near these areas for people to camp or park an RV (van)? At first when I move down there I plan on living in my van or buying a small used camper. What is the cost of living compared to living wage around in these areas? Im a chef I plan on using that experience to find something when the time comes. Thanks for any feedback 🖖🏻

Thank you so much for watching our video and taking the time to comment. We hope you are able to visit the Florida beaches really soon. I'm sure you and your dog will love them. Most beaches here do not allow dogs, but there are several that do. The best one in the area is the Fort Desoto Dog Beach. It's a huge stretch of Beach that is normally full of dogs on the weekends. There's also a nice dog beach on Honeymoon Island and on Passa A Grille (south end of St. Pete Beach). We don't really know much about places to park an RV or a van, unfortunately. Rent here in St. Pete has gotten quite expensive over the past couple of years, but I've been noticing that wages seem to be going up as well, although probably not at the same rate. We still do love living here, but it's definitely not the hidden gem that it used to be!

AHHHHH… my favorite American beach area; Pass-A-Grille beach!!!! After Mom married my step Dad, and I was aged 14, we’d been vacationing there every year since 1979. My step aunt Rosie and uncle Jep had moved there from CN in 1977, hence why we came to visit my newly acquired family. In near later years, unfortunately uncle Jep passed of brain cancer, and many years later, aunt Rosie passed of the same. While she was alive, a few members of my step family ensured aunt Rosies financial life by buying her home, paying her in a lump sum to invest, and then letting her live in her home for the rest of her life. It became the family home with the relatives coming down to stay with her, and maintaining her property, helping her with day to day, and still vacationing. Aunt Nadia held the largest share of 60%, so after aunt Rosie passed, aunt Nadia and uncle Don moved into it, and we were all still welcome. It was a fantastic time from the first day in 1979 through 2014 when aunt Nadia and uncle Don realised the property value had quadrupled, and we who were invested agreed to sell. We had bought it from aunt Rosie for a bit more than value at the time for 120k, and, well, do the math. I wanted to purchase it, but still had a mortgage on my residence, and two investment properties, and two young children, so I had to pass of buying it. I still miss that modest home of 1400sq ft 2 bed, 1 bath, seven miles in from Pass-A-Grille in St.Pete. It was always kept up but still maintained, perfectly, that 1952 early FL charm complete with tile roof, stucco exterior and FL-aqua coloured exterior amidst the neighbourhood of the same perfectly maintained original charm. BTW, Zillow (for what they’re worth) has it currently valued at $550k… lol. Oh well

We certainly understand why it's your favorite. We're sure you've seen it change a lot over the last 25 years, but we're thankful that it's still held on to so much of it's old Florida charm. We can hardly believe how much property values in this area have gone up just since we moved here almost 12 years ago. We would have absolutely purchased a condo on the beach if we'd known how much the values would rise, but hind sight's always 20/20!

Siesta key has nice sand but no waves and lots of times smelly water. so bad in the summer that sometimes you can't swim in it how does anybody rank that is the best beach in America???
@Explorcation
@Explorcation Жыл бұрын
It really is all about personal preference. Some people like calm waters, while others like big waves. The ride tide unfortunately has been an issue at points over the last few years. The majority of summer days at Siesta are safe for swimming, but if you happen to visit when the red tide is bad it really can ruin your experience.

Hi Dan. We really liked that aerial clip and do think that it's one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in the Tampa area. Biased bc I’m a Park Ranger at Caladesi but.. nature lovers who think amenities, high rises and tourists are overrated, then here’s the list: 1 Caladesi- no other island you mentioned has a forest of live oaks (maritime hammock) and pine trees where you can hike, look for a great horned owl, then chill at beach. 2 Ft Desoto- wide open vibes mixed w/ cool fort gives a sense of awe. Camp, bike, etc. it has it all. (Tip- Get out on kayak and fish Seagrass) 3 Pass A Grille- more amenities, nice little beach, nothing much else to say. 4 Treasure Island- more amenities, closer to downtown St Pete, a nice wide beach feel more secluded despite being fairly built up. Good work giving insights on parking availability and price. Ultimately, getting out and exploring all the different beaches and deciding your personal favorites is most satisfying.
@Explorcation

Hey Michael. If you take amenities out of the equation, our rankings would definitely change significantly, and like you, we'd probably rank Caladesi at the top! Great video! Our top 3 priorities are: clear, blue water, sugar soft sand & seashells. I can see the water colors in the video, wondering what the water & crowds are like weekdays the beginning of October? Also, no mention of shelling. We are use to the Pensacola area. Thank you!
@Explorcation
@Explorcation 2 жыл бұрын
We tend to find that the beaches with the best sand around here tend to not be great for shelling. That said, we have found good shells towards the south end of Siesta and the north end of Clearwater Beach, both of which have amazing sand. Most beaches in our video would not be too crowded on a weekday in October, as October is typically one of the least busy times of year. The water is still generally fairly warm though and it's a great time to visit the beach, as long as there isn't a tropical storm/hurricane!
