My wife and I purchased two Discover 1s on sale for $1,100 each. We love them. My wife’s commute is 500 to 1000 feet gain in elevation and the bike handles the hills no problem even with her laptop and other work items. The brakes work very well. The range is excellent . 40-60 miles. Again, we love these bikes, but I do have some feedback for Velotrec. The bike would be better if they expanded the range of their sprockets. The highest gear is good for power level 4, but not quite so good for power level 5. You have to pedal extremely fast on power level 5 to avoid “ghost pedaling” (i.e. pedaling with no resistance) Great bike for the money!

I love this ebike. You also get hydraulic brakes which is almost unheard of at this price.

😮 I love my Discover Had it for a year now/ 700 miles. Crazy thing happened two weeks ago. The odometer reset it self to zero! How dod it happen? This should never happen. Any Idea if I did anything? I did not reset. Does Velotric’s computer have a back door that I accidentally accessed by a combination of pushbuttons? Another subject. I have done some off road. It’s not a mountain bike but does well on green and light-mid-blue trails. Yet another subject: I think it is so reasonably priced because of their manufacturing. Brand new state-of-the art robotic manufacturing plant. Worth $3,000!

Question do you have to charge the battery on the bike or can you take the battery off the bike leave the bike in your storage building where there's no electricity and then charge up the battery and put it back on the bike?

Yes, the battery is removable and you can charge it elsewhere. Most ebikes nowadays are like that.

The throttle on my my Discover1 does not work independently. On 1st peddle assist when using the throttle, you can't even tell its working...plus my charger got very hot while charging only one hr. Any one else have this problem.

Yes, we just bought 2 Discover 1 bikes yesterday, and charged them up today, and both chargers got very hot. Too hot. We called our dealer and he's going to get back to us.

I have a Velotric Discover 1 and I DO NOT recommend buying one. The company does not stand behind their shoddy bikes. Many of these reviews on You Tube are from reviewers who were given a free bike in exchange for a positive review.

Consumer Reports tested budget E-bikes & rated the Velotric Discover 1 the best, as reported in their August 2023 issue. That's why I just bought one.
