More accurately, they were going to kill off Thunderbird OR Wolverine. Thunderbird got the nod because John Byrne is Canadian. Originally Jean WAS the Phoenix. There wasn't a "Phoenix force" until sometime later. It was her achieving the full potential of her powers.

Actually Jean was not the Phoenix originally imo since she says herself in The Dark Phoenix Saga’s final issue that she and the Phoenix share a symbiotic relationship. She says, and I quote, “Two brings-Jean Grey and Phoenix...separate...unique...bound together. A symbiote, Peter; neither can exist without the other.“ So I tend to call bull on the idea that she did ALL this stuff on her own power.

Trauma does not mean PTSD. The trauma that the time broker is referring to is the trauma of being undone in time, and that their mind/body/soul/spirit/essence is trying to make sense of what it's experiencing.
@FrankLightheart7 жыл бұрын
Honestly, this sounds like a fun title. It's a rare opportunity in comics for artists to just come up with crazy ideas for stories without any strings attached. They can resurrect obscure characters and explore them further, or just invent all new characters for the hell of it. And it sounds like the execution of this story was done rather well too.
@jfdrac3 жыл бұрын
Indeed....ironically that is in the end what killed the book....rather than fun niches characters....they went too mainstream at the end ....Having the book mostly full of bigger names ...some even just the regular versions we had known for years. ...and to do that they killed off or dumped the ones people cared for.
@HyenaDandy4 жыл бұрын
I think there's another advantage to killing off Magnus like that, which is that it explains why they don't have as much of a solid, controlled leader. If I was time (and I'm not, I promise) I wouldn't want to send out a team without someone with leadership experience on it. Typically, I dislike shock 'anyone can die' deaths because, well, it tends to not be true. Characters will probably die if their character arcs are at or near completion, or their deaths otherwise serve the story. But in the case of Magnus, it serves the story by explaining why the exiles didn't have someone like him on the team. They did. And then he died.

What the time broker was trying to convey (at least how I figure it) was that he, and the area they were in, were non-corporeal; and that his form, and the area they were in, was taken from their minds collectively (not as in they are a collective mind, but they form the collective pool of information) so that they could comprehend it.

That collective consciousness thing actually makes sense to me. So yeah, the original run of exiles is being collected and reprinted right now. The first volume probably contains the first 19 issues of the original run. The break down could actually be very simple. Week 1: Backstory on the character's creation, Bette Kane, and Barbara Gordon. Week 2: Helena Bertinelli in No Man's Land, and then Cassandra Cain (THE GREATEST HERO OF ALL TIME) Week 3: Stephanie Brown Week 4: New 52/Rebirth I think it'd be a lot of fun, but of course, it all comes down to what you want to do. However, whether or not you do this, you can expect that once I have the money, I WILL be paying you to review Robin 150-151, my most hated comics of all time, and I will enjoy watching them burn. No. And those aren't Celestials either. Celestials are a race of incredibly powerful aliens, who like to play god (their probably favorite pastime is creating Eternal and Deviant versions from a species, and letting those loose amongst the "vanilla" population and watch the unfolding chaos). Death and Eternity are anthropomorphic personifications, Time could fit here. Galactus is the last survivor of the previous (... okay now the one before the previous) multiverse who also has some balancing function between Eternity and Oblivion. To make stuff more confusing there is a Father Time who is one of the Elders of the Universe... now those are a collection of immortal aliens who're the last of their races and transcended into something else by the power of monomania (think: The Collector, The Grandmaster, Ego The Living Planet etc.).

I'd say Morph in the comics now looks more like The Mask, probably due the popularity of the movie at the time.

18:24 long story short Jean Grey became evil, and more interesting in the process, and she became evil in part because Cyclops was a dick, and then she died for the first time, the first of what now can be considered a running gag.

Granted Jean's been dead for like 14 years now (minus a quick return/death in a mini-series) so she's doing pretty good at staying dead this time.

Oh, Parallel Universes. To quote TFS Cell "Multiverse Theory is a bitch." While on this note, I swear that the Transfotmers have one of the most complexes Multiverses.

Half the plot in Atop the Fourth Wall involves parallel universes, so fitting you review this. Why hasn't Linkara tried to travel to parallel universes using Comicron One before it crashed, like try to investigate Mechakara's world just to be careful/be a hero, or go to the universe of Pokemon Red and Blue and show Vyce the Entity's dead(since Vyce said Entity/Missingno was from his universe, and when the Entity died it undid its assimilation).

That would be interesting to see of Linkara travel to different universes while still doing reviews.

Actually, the idea of a demon-possessed guy making a deal with an angel to get married is kinda interesting.

Morph in this series reminds me of Jim Carrey's Big Head from The Mask which is funny because in the Marvel game Marvel Heroes he sings Cuban Pete
