I am a Black Woman African American and every since I heard first this song on The Devil's Rejects soundtrack and have fallen hard I live in St Louis Missouri and I play this song in the city very loud when I'm Rollin down the street but I feel like I am in Tennessee Hills this song really gives me Goosebumps and Brave Awakenings!

Great story. It is so good to hear from someone else who gets goosebumps from music. This song always does it for me also. So many people do not seem to feel music at a level deep enough to feel that euphoria. Some of us just seem to be wired that way. Here's to more Goosebumps and Brave Awakenings!

Brave dreams that are kindled from ashes Rise out o'er the battle below Spread wings over all that he passes So his life can stay immortal to his country Ah the shades of green that fall beneath this tree So let the winds of change That rearrange the country Let also sow a seed of memory Marlene in the cool satin sashes Spread dreams with the battle below Bring love with a song as she passes So his life can stay immortal to the country And let every man aware of being free Mmm, when she talks of times when wine is handed to me From a face that walked out of a memory And now that the battle is done And you wake up in the morning With the sun up in the sky Summer never gives you no warning then Flowers are getting thrown up to cover the mud up on the line Valleys getting greener and there's Nothing but love on your mind Brave dreams that are kindled from ashes Rise out o'er the battle below Spread wings over all that he passes So his life can stay immortal to the country The shades of the green that brought to me a victory But the winds of change They've rearranged this country They also sow the seed of memory, yeah. Let it always sow a seed of memory, yeah Let it always sow the seed of memory, yeah

Thanks. I am amazed that I've overlooked this artist he deserves more Terry Reid
First heard this song in The Devil's Rejects. Had to find it. One of my favorite songs of all time. Perfectly sung.

This is Rob Zombie's favorite album. It makes sense that is musical output is quite a lot more diverse sounding than most people give him credit for. It's sad people just want him to rewrite Dragula and Thunder Kiss '65 twelve times over every 3 years. Same with his movies. People want him to make Devil's Rejects over and over when he wants to make dramas about Silent Era film stars.

I was reading an article that Jimmy Page wanted Terry Reid to join Led Zeppelin,he declined but recommended to Page that he call Robert Plant and the rest is history.I never heard of Terry Reid so I look ed him up on KZbin and this is the first song of his I have ever heard and I am 51 years old I think he sounds amazing.
@Invictus136663 жыл бұрын
That story isn’t exactly true.
@doncolesrockhistory10123 жыл бұрын
@@Invictus13666 The truth is by the time Page asked Terry to be a part of Led Zeppelin, Terry already had his first album "Bang Bang You're Terry Reid" out in the UK and the US and he was touring ( Terry was also the opening act of Cream's final US tour ). He told Page to check out Plant and Page when down to a club where Plant was playing ( with his band that included John Bonham ). Before the night was over, Page not only walked away with Plant but with Bonham as well. This was not the only time Terry turned down a prime gig. He was offered the role of lead singer for Deep Purple after they let Rod Evans go. Once again, due to a bitter situation with his manager ( who had a major hand in stalling Terry's career ), Terry suggested they check out a singer he knew, Ian Gillan. The rest is history

I first hear of Terry Reid through The Replacements because he sang backup vocals on “Somebody Take the Wheel” from their last album All Shook Down. Their manager Peter Jesperson turned them onto him. Tommy Stinson told the story of Terry playing Mayfly for them in the studio and they all were in tears by the end. Huge talent that still sounds amazing (check out his Live in London cd) love to see you in south Florida Terry

He was Jimmy Pages first invite to join Zep as singer, but had commitments w/his project, asked to give him a few weeks. Page, impatient, didn't want to wait. This could have been Led Zeppelins lead...maybe "what is and what should never be", in past tense, of course. Think Terry could have taken them in his own way to the same heights? Dont know. But I really Love Terry's style...its so comforting.

I can't imagine had he taken Jimmy Pages offer to be Led Zeppelin's singer before JP asked Robert Plant. I can see why Jimmy wanted him but I'd say it all worked out.
