I've just found your channel and love it!!! You make this look so easy that even I might be able to make it! I've been crocheting for 45 years and tried knitting about 32 years ago but failed at it. I've recently decided to again try my hand at knitting. I've been struggling with it but now that I've seen this video and the way you use the Continental style of knitting (which I've never tried) I think I may be able to make this! Now I just need to find circular knitting needles! Thank you for your great tutorials!!

You should be able to knit continental fairly easy being that you're a crocheter. I did find pearling continental to be a little challenging, but with practice, it can be done. If you find Pearland difficult, check into combination knitting, which is so much easier pearling.

Glad you like it! I don't have a seed stitch hat pattern in this yarn weight, but I do have a super easy beginner-friendly hat that can be done in the same yarn weight. It's called the Easiest Knitted Hat, and it's made from a garter stitch rectangle. The hat is super quick and comfy, and I think it would go great with this cowl. I actually made one of my sample hats in the leftover yarn I had from this cowl. Although the texture is a bit different, I think they still made a nice matching set. I hope this helps!

can I use 8ply? and what size needles?

Hi Carol. You could use an 8ply / DK weight yarn for this project, with the recommended needle size on the yarn label. However, you will need to cast on a lot more stitches to make the cowl large enough. Just cast on any even number of stitches that would make the cowl the length you want. I hope this helps!
