When watering the seed it should be done by hand with a spray gun until germination as using a sprinkler can move the seed around causing a patchy lawn.Don't overwater ,little and often as you are watering the seed not the ground, to much water can cause the seed to rot and puddling again can move the seed. If you want to take your lawn to the next level then watch Daniel Hibbert KZbin videos.

Defo needing cut. Would recomended using a cylinder mower for first couple cuts at least its better on the new grass. Get seaweed on it, it helped my lawn wonders.

I picked up some seed weed stuff a few weeks back, used it on the front and it’s turned out great! Will try it on the back too 👍🏻

Defo needs a Cut, but only take 1/3 of the length off the top, it will thicken out after you cut it a few times because it sort of trains its self to grow outwards as well as upwards because it keeps getting cut down

This has helped a lot this week, it’s really starting to thicken now that it’s been cut. Cheers 👍🏻

I seeding my lawn around mid March and was caught in the frost and snow we had and none of my seed germinated , so I tried again mid April and I've had approx 35% seed germination, somthing is not right with the weather compared to last few years

A bit early is March I normally wait until first 2 weeks of April April showers
@SilverTrill2 жыл бұрын
@@fuzzy1237 I researched online and it said I can start at start of spring which I did 20th March and it was a fail , maybe that works good overseas in USA but didn't work here in uk , last year I seeded around 25th April and it was perfect but this year not so good so maybe even April is too early

I love seeing progress :) but idk why I thought grass grows faster. I see videos where they have "bushes" after 2 weeks :O

This looks great! I'm completely new to this and doing my garden soon so your series has been super useful. What's the reason for adding sand to the soil (and knowing how much sand to add)?
@NoviceGardener Жыл бұрын
Glad the videos have helped! 👍🏻 It's a good way to get your lawn level, but if you're levelling for the first time, you're best off with just topsoil. I'm torn as to whether I'm going to use sand this year. I'm going to decide later this month when I look to top dress.

@NoviceGardener ah okay that's really good to know thank you! It's a very similar concept to yours but we dont even have turf on so it's starting from complete scratch!
