It may just be the day of the video, but it seems much brighter with the new plastic. Thank you for sharing.

I think it is brighter. Going to do a Par test as soon as we get a good sunny day with no clouds

I am just getting into hydroponics 10 bato buckets and three 5 foot channels. I have to say that Johnny's and Crop King are very quick on their shipping. Even with my tiny orders I get them within a few days.

Thats great to hear. Keep us informed on how you do... Good luck!!!

That looks great. Good tips on the Spinach germination. I'm working on an in house hydro growing system. Using 4x4 vinyl post covers, but I really like those channels you have.
@HomegrownPassion2 жыл бұрын
For the cost I think they are worth it. The covers come off for easy cleaning and they are made for hydo. You can buy just a few and get them any length you want. CropKing... let us know how you do.

Love your videos! We've grown Big Beef in the greenhouse for years and have run into cracking with the new and improved version. Question! Do the Rebelski taste as good? If so, that wil be worth swtiching to them. Thanks for your opinion!
@HomegrownPassion2 жыл бұрын
We think they do and in fact have entered them into our summer farmers market tomato contest and have won... so I would say give them a try. we just got 100% germination on the seeds (will post new video on Thursday)
@dirkhazeleger65132 жыл бұрын
Great, thank you! We will give them a try.

Hi there. I would love to see a super beginner video with hydroponics where you get a kit from Crop King, put it together, grow inside, etc. so we can see all the steps and doing it inside versus a greenhouse.
@HomegrownPassion2 жыл бұрын
Thats a good idea. Let us come up with an idea on how we can do that. Thank you for the suggestion

Did you say your lettuce formula EC was 1.7?
@HomegrownPassion20 сағат бұрын
yes 1.7 to 1.8 when they are really growing, I do drop it down to 1.5 in the winter
@sunnyjones68216 сағат бұрын
@ awesome! And you had your recipe made for your water by crop king itself right? That’s awesome!

after you germinated the spinach, do you put it under a "mat" to bring up the temp? If you didn't have a temp-controlled room? Also once you put them in the oasis cube are you bottom feeding them with 50% nutrient solution, and how long from the time you germinate to placing them in the hydroponic? thanks in advance.
@HomegrownPassion2 жыл бұрын
A bottom heat mat would work. I bottom feed with a 100% nutrient solution and usually 2 weeks before they go into the channels.

Is there any reason you can't save seeds from what you grow?
@HomegrownPassion Жыл бұрын
Nothing ever gets to that maturity except tomatoes. Just easier for us to buy new seeds but I guess you could save seeds if you had the time.

You just open a big light for me, I use to purchase seed by variety, not hydroponic or soil 😂😂, maybe that why sometime "mutan" grow, very large stem and small leaves, also battles with germination (but now, whit your vid, I will put dark cover ). well I have only one year of experience with Indoor hydroponic, all of your Quick tip is a big school for me, thanks a lot. I prefer those salade or lettuce that taste a bit bitter Any variety I should try Thanks again.

Katy, why dont you save the seeds from those expensive Tomatoes,from all the tomatoes you and your family eat. Its easy to do, there are lots of vids on youtube to watch regarding saving seeds. Thanks for the replies on saving seeds. I didn't,t know that the seeds cannot be used again .Good to know.

Rebelski is a hybrid which won't breed true and you will get mixed genetics from it's seed. You can only save seeds from open pollinated/ heirloom plants.
@robindevellen70382 жыл бұрын
Probably because they’re hybrid.

Why are the tomato seeds so expensive? I mean in the end a dollar a seed is "Nothing" compared to what can be earned but damn. That's expensive.
@waynebusse63762 жыл бұрын
Rebelski is one of the first hybrids with both powdery mildew and grey leaf mold resistance, big problems in green houses / high humidity.
