Hey Mike I’ve got a question what are the pros and cons of having your drill between the tractor and seed cart compared to having the drill behind the seed cart seen these configuration before or is it just the brand of drill you buy on what the configuration is?
@staceyfarquharson80692 жыл бұрын
With the 1300 bushel grain cart that Mike is pulling this is the only configuration you can get. if you have a smaller tank the yes you can a tow between tank. it is preference as to what you would like both work the same. Maybe depending on soil type you don't want a cart behind the drill for compaction. Some companies make both tow between and tow behind tanks and there are some that only make tow behind. Usually just depends on what the farmer wants there is really no big difference between the 2 styles.
@jackwillie27292 жыл бұрын
I'd think you'd like to keep an eye on the seeder ..but I'm sure their are many variables ..good guestion
@oldretireddude2 жыл бұрын
Don't you imagine that a cart that is getting low on product could not hold traction and would slide sideways in turns while seeding, due to the high drag of the seeder when in the ground?
2 жыл бұрын
@@oldretireddude That's an interesting thought! I feel like a tow-behind 2-wheel cart would actually puts some of its weight on the drawbar could increase traction. No idea if that's a thing with these massive things. The biggest seeder I've seen here in real life was probably a 6m Väderstad, so can definitely not speak from experience :D

With a drill that wide on turns do you find many problems with over and under seeding?
@mikeznel60482 жыл бұрын
Usually don’t seed while turning. Sectional control keeps them from over planting and they will apply different rates on different ends of the drill if you gotta turn and seed. Sprayers do as well.

@@simonott5924 so auto steer took care of it as well? thought they didnt share maps
@simonott59242 жыл бұрын
@@thomascurran2990 Well he could literally see where brians last pass ended so he (manually) put his drill right next to it and then set a new straight line on auto steer.. then he just had to go till the end of the field, always pulling the drill where it needed to be. This works so well because nearly all their runs on every field are oriented straight east/west or north/south. So to go parallel to brians last run he just needed to place his drill right and then set his auto steer straight west or north (i'll guess east/west concerning the shadows). Could you follow me? 😅 Also, would be interesting to know where you're from.. greetings from germany 😁
